Tell me?!?!?!?!
Should be a NPC in the portal room (Thrallamar Mage for the Horde) that you can talk to that sends you to Thrallamar in Outland.
that’s not blasted lands.
NPC only seems to teleport you if you’re low level.
That makes no sense. The world is the same size no matter what. There is no feel about it. The only way to make the world bigger is add more zones. Which happen every expansion so it’s a non-issue. That portal is the longest consistent portal in the game.
It doesn’t matter what you think. Ion and Co thought it would make the world bigger.
Wait, crap, misread my bad, though you could still use it to get to the Blasted lands by flying from Outland back thru the Dark Portal I believe.
As for a in-Azeroth Portal, I believe it was removed in 8.1.5, so you would have to ether take a Zepplin to Stranglethorn and fly North (If coming from Orgrimmar).
Removed aeroplanes from the real world would also make the world feel bigger. But you don’t see that happening? Why? Because that’s nonsensical. If we had portals or teleports we’d use those too. We wouldn’t arbitrary remove them to create an artificial sensation of largeness.
Fly from Undercity.
That kind of thinking kills games. Life is a democracy. Captialism is a democracy. If you repeatedly upset your consumers then they’ll find something else to consume…
The mage union approves of this change.
Yes some real people with real jobs should absolutely lose their livelihoods because some anonymous gamer is pissed off.
That’s totally cool.
It’s in the bin with the rest of the portal access we had.
This is just one in a thousand things he’s done to upset a majority playerbase. Millions of subscribers loss. All because of him. Makes me actually miss ghostcrawler… I don’t know how they managed to get someone worse then him. Ghostcrawler at least had passion with the game (even if I often disagreed with the direction of that passion). But Ion… I swear he is purposefully destroying the game. He get’s some kind of cruel sadistic pleasure from it.
Do you really believe he would still have his position if the up-and-ups at blizzard didn’t like his performance or the direction of the game?
Come on, now.
They don’t care. Apathy at the highest level. Metzen, GC, etc. Even at their worst they were never apathetic…
I don’t think you’re thinking rationally here. Everything is about dollars and cents in the corporate world. If this man was causing blizzard to hemorrhage major money, you can bet your butt he’d be right out the door.
Only the likes of a Bobby Kotick are invulnerable. A guy on Ion’s level is totally expendable.
Look at recent headlines. Does it appear that corporations in the gaming industry are afraid to lay off people? Like, lots of people?
They rarely lay off people like ION. The people in charge, the people messing up. They lay off everyone else. The grunt workers, the CMs, the ones who had nothing to do with the losses and yet they’re the ones who suffer.
Better question. Why do you need a portal to the Blasted Lands? Isn’t that kinda like complaining about not have a portal to Des Moines?
Taking the portal to Hellfire and turning around to fly through the Dark Portal has just about the same effect and takes maybe a few seconds more. Not a big deal
