Where blizzard failed with Delves

There is 100% cope. Hence why you lashed out.

Says the guy that’s ignoring how I literally told you to deal with the mechanic.

You also have fade to stop casts as well as apparently being able to dispell it.

It’s 100% a skill issue on your part.

They only care about the “group” part in delves. The solo player gets the scraps or is forced to level and play a different class to make it through.

They’re boring.

They’re slow.

People wanted slower gameplay, and this is it. The most optimal way to do delves are slow and steady, which is boring.

lmao.

Maybe is your spec. I mean, I only pvp, all I have is honor gear and the few items that are from conquest or crafted for pvp (epic quality) and even I can do tier 8. Not easy of course, not meant to be. Check your build, do some research, I’m just saying that is very discouraging to see nerfs and buffs flying left and right.

I mean…. In November for next upcoming patch we have some big changes to classes, why? Should this happened during expansion development? Is like nothing was tested and nothing was finished.

Those classes needed reworks.

BM aoe is in a rough spot right now.

Nope. Mage tower was extra. If delves were extra, then I wouldn’t have an issue with it. The way it stands now, though, after WQ and open world boss fights, delves is the only end game solo content offering ilvl upgrades.

It’s a different thing. I’d like to think folk would at least understand that much, but so far, nope.

The biggest failure is probably how seemingly untested it was, which resulted in a week of roller coaster balance where every day we log in something has probably drastically changed.

As it is now even playing solo it feels mostly fine. My mage is at ilvl 588 and I can reliably solo T8 delves even though I’m still a little bit below the recommended gear level. Granted I’m sure some specific specs need help in there, so I wont say balance is perfect.

Personally my biggest gripe is now Brann’s AI is terrible and he can be inconsistent on stuff like his healing potions which you need to keep the HoT rolling to really maximize how useful they are.

He also makes Polymorph borderline unusable because he’ll break it 90% of the time.

As I gear up it’s less of an issue cause I can now just brute force the delves, but it’s still annoying.

They can’t tune class balance and we have 20 years of data now to show that is the case. There is no reason to reasonably expect they can tune solo content for 36 different specs at this point. The only time they did this was the mage tower and to be honest even then it wasn’t tuned all that well. Certain role challenges in mage tower were arguably easier for certain classes than others.

Honestly, they need to provide a range of options for a bonus action button ability that you slot when you are in delves. So that you can choose from a number of options to better round out your given toolkit.

I think the solution is limiting them to 3 people. That alone greatly reduces the disparity between 1 vs 3.

I understand why they did it, I mean they want their game to have a social element after all, and they want people able to play with friends.

But scaling something to both solo and group play just seems to be a bit too difficult without invalidating one of the methods.

That he didn’t get ilevel 616 loot from Vault while others got it either on Solo or Group.

He thought those are freebies.

Not saying they don’t need it, why this didn’t happen during expansion development? We can’t settle in any class. Every month we get new talents, new rework, new something. When does it stop?

So then you wonder, do they test this things? Y’all pay me minimum wage and give me a PC and I’ll move to blizz headquarters and test 24/7, not kidding.

You’re supposed to keep repeating it until RNG smiles on you and you happen to hit one that’s doable. I’m sure that’s what they would do if they were you here and now rather than putting the biggest group permitted through every tier open while mob health was nerfed down to super EZ mode for groups. I mean, Snozz deserves super easy content he can sleaze through with his friends, while people who missed that window of opportunity were playing the game wrong by not playing 18/24 hours a day while they were still exploitable.

Oh lord, this gave me flash backs to greater rifts in Diablo 3. Fishing for a good rift with lots of mobs, major double Yuk

I hope they can eventually balance this, and find a way to do it automatically, because that could, theoretically, be applied to other types of content and open it up for solo play.

This issue with delves is they won’t pick a lane.

They want to make end game content for the players that aren’t in the ~30% of keystone pushers and ~10% of raid pushers (often these groups overlap as well), yet they also want to make this content hard for ‘reasons’. Stop trying to make content aimed towards casual play difficult, this isn’t rocket science. Especially when they specifically reserved T9+ for challenge mode.

They also should have delay released Delves in multiple tiers if they were worried about players getting ahead in gear. Tier 6-8 should not have been released until Mythic week, since the rewards are similar, in a similar way that Tier 5+ was not available in early access. We can easily assume Delve rewards were released this way to motivate players to do them for Hero track gear before it was available in any other form of content.

Here’s how to fix delves:

  1. Make them easier so you can actually clear them in a decent amount of time and it sells a power fantasy not an annoying chore/grind fantasy. T9+ exists for folks that want that.
  2. Add class specific powerups to the start of each delve that balances out toolkits a bit (ie. every Priest gets a powerup that gives them Silence and reduces the cooldown to 15 seconds), alternatively put in a system like PvP talents for Delves.
  3. Next time make it so the release of content / rewards is comparable to other systems in the game.

This right here…. Can’t make solo content for casuals hard and annoying. Just buff the crap out of tier 9+ and add cooler rewards. Let’s face it, even celestial steed is better than that void looking blimp.

So are delves.

They are. It’s literally the new challenge mode for solo players.

I’m going to be polite about this as much as possible.

This is a group based game.

Previously this game has had nothing for solo players outside of world content

So they brought in delves.

In this game to have better ilvl than what you get from world quests the content is going to be harder. It’s not going to be like world content that’s designed to have a 100% completion rate.

If you want the better gear than what’s offered than world content it’s going to be harder

What you can’t seem to understand is that good gear isn’t going to be free and easy as wq gear.

You need the difficulty then you just need the rewards. Can’t have heroic gear being awarded for content that’s already trivial.

Delves reward too high ilvl as it is.

I honestly wonder how many “average” type players ran a level 3 bountiful delve, got wrecked, and decided the entire thing was too hard to spend time on.

I imagine the number is large.
