Where blizzard failed with Delves

Issue is, they are trying balance the same content for solo and groups. The mistake was to allow Delves to be done in groups. This was sold as end game solo content. If you want to do group content, you can do dungeons, mythic+ and raiding. Trying to balance solo and group delves is where everything is breaking.

No. It can absolutely be balanced better for both if they do it correctly.

Even Torghast was balanced better than this albeit not perfectly.

No. It was marketed as content for open world and casual players who want to run solo or with small groups, like family.

Then they’d need to design another pillar of end-game for people who want to run with their spouses or a friend or two that’s also role-ambiguous.

Their main failure was just not testing their feature thoroughly before releasing it. That’s the problem right now, not the group size. They’re just releasing untested content.

It’s amazing how many people really didn’t read the info that very clearly said solo or groups since day 1.

Yeah this is 1 to 4 player content always has been, or I swear it was at max 4 players before.

Ok, I thought we were under the assumption they can’t balance anything properly if it meant to save their lives. Did I miss something here?

Yeh the game would be 10/10 if everything was done correct fly but here we are, again…

Where what is breaking? What specifically is the issue you’re seeing?

This just sounds like Twitter levels of ignorance from people who want to spread around angry complaining and others latched onto it.

Yes, group content can be balance as the number of players increases from solo to five. I literally gave an example in the first place. One of two examples that this entire system was based off of. But they rushed this out the door and did not do what was necessary.

  1. Up HP and damage per player
  2. Add more mechanics per player
  3. Add more mobs per player
  4. Add more “affixes” per player

I’m 585 and don’t even need to exist in a Tier 8 with my 607 BM hunter guildie. I could stand there, do nothing and he’ll still clear it the same way he did if doing it solo.

There is no change for him, it plays almost exactly the same.

Whos making you do Delves in a group ?

Yeah they need to just make it solo only. It’s going to be impossible to balance the two play styles. The last thing they should want to do is alienate the solo players in delves by making it a group meta.

It was, in fact, sold as end game content for solo players. I question how the devs define the term solo.

The issue I have with Delves is that I can barely do delves at a level that will improve my ilvl now, and I’m basically doing very low level delves at this point. I don’t think the scaling is going to be beneficial for me.

I don’t see an issue you could do Torghast in groups too if you wanted the choice is yours. Do it with 2 or 3, full group, or solo.

That’s not really the problem. The problem is the perception of the community that delves should be easy mode, and should require no effort at tier 8.

Is it only a perception that two specs in the game have NO access to a kick in a mode that requires them on some encounters?

Brann has a kick, so that covers that mostly. It depends on which encounter you mean.

It’s never been promoted as exclusive solo content.

No, No it does not even remotely cover it because his kicks are extremely inconsistent and not often enough.

Bran just not kicking a few spells, even on +8, is a wipe if you can not kick it yourself.

The “it depends on what encounter you mean” is the entire issue, there should be no encounter that bricks on you Disc/Holy just because you are not allowed to have an interrupt.

That’s not true at all. It’s been promoted as “solo or up to 4 friends” since they announced it.

It’s supposed to take a long time to get gear upgrades. If you’re at the level that’s even with tier 8 you then have to wait for vaults

Then they need to actually put in the effort to make sure that all permutations that fall under “solo2quaddies” are properly functional and get the outliers ironed out.

It was not sold as solo exclusively. It was always 1-5 players.
