No, not the financial-gold-hoarding whales, lol. Plenty of those around.
The tuskarr use whalebones in most of their stuff, and yet we don’t see any baleen whales or anything like that in the game.
All we really have are Whale Sharks as the largest animals in WoW, and, fun fact, Whale Sharks don’t have bones, because they are sharks.
So, where are all these whale bones coming from?
I hope they do the same thing they’ve done with ducks, where they suddenly add a bunch of whale NPCs in the world, and pretend they’ve always existed on Azeroth.
There was even concept art of a fungal whale, from Zangarmarsh (TBC)/Zangar Sea (WoD), that never made it into the game, WoD had too many ideas that were cut.
We’ve got orcas (we had them since Wrath) and dolphins (from BfA), but I see them rarely, and that’s pretty much it.
TLDR- Where my baleens and other large cetaceans at?
EDIT: Just remembered we got that giant koi-fish mount too, maybe they could tweak it and make it larger, using that skeleton/animations, we could potentially have whales in the future.
The ocean is vast. Even in real life, there are very large things we are just now discovering.
Imagine what sort of things are hiding in the ocean of a MAGICAL world.
It’s only a matter of time before we come across our first living one.
I use to take kite him to Northshire and watch him devour all the level 1 s, was no guards then, was a bit disruptive but very entertaining, Blizz nerfed that type of fun to the ground.
