Where are playable Night Elf Paladins?

Naw, I’m good.

Death Knights weren’t given a choice. They were raised and enslaved by the Lich King. They also don’t destroy souls by the very nature of their power.

Demon Hunters took the fel into themselves in order to fight the demons of the Burning Legion that were attempting to do that same thing (soul destruction) to their entire race.

I hate to use real life in a video game forum, but for an anology; You can forgive and redeem a recovering drug addict that by their actions destroyed your family, as long as they stay clean.

Not so much when they keep using.

Because I play a paladin and am asking for things for paladins, so this thread is about paladin races, especially alliance ones as we haven’t really gotten any new ones for a very long time. All of alliance allied races were just what we already had but with new customizations you can barely see if you wear armor/mog which was pretty disappointing imo. Regardless at this point I am an advocate for all races/all classes so it doesn’t matter what comes first to me as long as it all comes.

There can be a thread about shaman races though if someone makes one and I do think shamans need some new ones too.

All classes all races. It makes perfect sense at this point.

They’re working on it.

They’re slowly lifting most race/class restrictions. It takes time. They’re coming.

Yeah it has been a long time though for quite a few races and we have not seen much in the last few expansions for other classes. The reason I brought this back was because we haven’t seen anything announced for the new expansion just yet so wanted to put it back on their radar. I know they said they are working on it but still good to mention it.

Why would they mention it as an expansion feature?

They didn’t bring up priests, mages, rogues or Warlocks until they announced them in the patch note announcement.

They’re working on it. You continually bringing it up isn’t going to speed it up any.

They’re also working on Shaman and Druids. It’s a slow process. Especially when you consider that they need to design mounts for all of the races for Pallies, totems for Shaman and forms for Druids.

It takes time. They’re working on it.

I don’t really care if you think bringing it up doesn’t help any, they ask for feedback here so that is what is being given. You can forum police somewhere else if you want but we are able to discuss whatever on these forums. As you can see people are interested enough in the topic to talk about it, and it’s contained in 1 thread here it is not constantly being spammed. You aren’t a dev either, no need to answer for them. It doesn’t really take 7 years after the introduction of Night elf paladins to add them either lol, thats why it has been brought up so much over time.

I’m not trying to police anything. I’m just stating that asking “are we there yet?” doesn’t get you there any faster. And this thread has the exact same energy.

That’s cool, nobody asked if it’s getting us anything faster or not though. Just a discussion about a race class combo that is wanted.

Yeah in my opinion Nelf paladins would make sense from the point of view of rp and playstyle instead of throwing hammers and casting holy light they should be replaced with things such as:
Judgement = Little Moon beam
Final Verdict = Giant t-h elven saber
Final Reckoning = A tiny moon makes big boom.
Wake of Ashes = Kind of what stars look like when they explode
Almost anything that would deal with Elune would be badass. And on the mount spectrum they’ve made so many armored sabers I don’t see why they shouldn’t be able to now.
Rp wise they would be awesome and they’d be (probably) simple to implement into the game since recently they had the night warrior story arc for the nelves and they could PROBABLY work on it from that stand point. I don’t know any other way to build on a story though.

You mean like this?

Blizz should really do something like this.

I feel like they’ve squandered their opportune moments to add some more classes to races. Darkspear Trolls should’ve gotten Paladins while we spent an entire expansion with their Z Troll cousins. Night Elves spent what almost 3 expansions in Stormwind? That alone was a good reason to add them as you could say some turned to the “Light” because they felt betrayed by Elune (That also works so you don’t have to come up with new skill cosmetics for them). The Primalists are done, now would’ve been a good time to add Shamans to more races.

Since Midnights will be the Elf expansion, I could see it taking that long to add Elf Paladins (Nelf, Velf) plus everyone else

They definitely have. I mean they can create moments for races to become some classes any time they want as long as they make it a decent questline, but they have absolutely had good opportunity to add quite a few classes to some races.

I think seeing Lightforged orcs with Yrels army would have been a decent time to add orc paladins for example, maybe they see what yrel has planned with the orcs there and want to become paladins to fight against those.

Night elf paladins have had multiple good opportunities with the Night warrior, the war in bfa leaving them in stormwind, and legion.

With the tyr’s guard being a thing now that easily opens the gate for really any race to become a paladin however. They had a Troll Paladin and a Kul’tiran paladin with no real introduction into those races becoming paladins. So this definitely opens the doors for paladins at least. I mostly want each paladin race to be separate though and have their own identity, not just variations of human paladin.

You know, I’ve never understood the whole “that race can’t have that class cause they already have something to fill that sort of roll”, wouldn’t that actually just support the idea of them getting the class even more since from a in world perspective not all the races strictly call classes by class name? For example in this case, Tauren call their paladins sunwalkers; Draenei: Vindicators; Zandalari: Prelates; Blood Elves: whatever group their a part of like the Blood Knights. While it might be a bit confusing name-wise, wouldn’t Priestesses of the moon just be what Night Elves call their paladins? I mean they are pretty much martially trained zealots of Elune right? sounds like paladin qualifications.

Lore wise Night Elf Priests were already effectively just Paladins with bows, it is only in WoW that gameplay over took lore.

So realistically they should have always had the class or gotten paladins back in cata with the original class/race mix ups.

But as we are already on the way to all class on all races it is just a matter of time at this point. Hopefully this process will be done by the end of the next expansion.

They need lore to introduce to justify a large number of them.

We really do need class skins for the various races.
