My week has been ruined and my disappointment is infinite
This is why I am patient and I don’t buy the marketing hype.
Right.
I mean if you squint really hard, you could say that the graphic just means “before Season 1”, and so it’s still technically “accurate”, because as far as Blizzard is concerned, everything that takes place prior to Season 1 is during the launch period. But if that was the intention, then why have the dates at the top, and have Earthen listed under the EA and official release dates?? It’s kind of odd if you ask me.
I myself was looking forward to spending way too long in the dressing room tonight making my Earthen as shiny as possible >.<
But yeah, its frustrating when we make reasonable assumptions only for them to turn out to not be true
Sorry to hear that.
Hopefully it improves in the future when earthen are available next week.
That’s the dream, Blizzard being transparent and honest. Not the timeline we live in, sadly.
That would be the golden age of renewal if that happened at some point lol.
Lmao who is out here wanting to main an earthen? Everyone I know said they hate them because it’s just another dwarf
Can’t my spirit has already been crushed
Circle the wagons! You can hold strong!
Their own advertising indicated that the Earthen would be available to unlock at launch, which is 1 minute from now as I write this. Not next week.
Me! I finished 1 character to 80 during early access but really have no point to play anything now until next week it seems. I wanted an earthan as my main. Guess I wont be able to play with friends when everything unlocks since I’ll be stuck leveling on Sept 3rd…So disappointed
I’ve given up hope on a redemption arc for them, but lord i wish it would happen. Blizzard loves their redemption arcs, enact your own ones IRL.
we do a little false advertisement
That info graphic even had them listed as under “Early Access” - needless to say I was surprised to find out the ‘leveling’ campaign wasn’t the requirement - and the needed quests weren’t able to be done (and thus unlock the Earthen) during EA
Pardon the language, but… why in the actual hell are we suddenly having to wait on something as non-intrusive as a new Allied Race? One that starts at level 10, and was advertised as being available during Early Access, at that?
TWW has been such a refreshing expansion that blew me, my wife, and our friend group’s expectations out of the water. Why bring it down with something as asinine as this? I truly don’t understand - and really question why we waited until now, an hour before official launch, to find this out.
Gotta get as much of them pre-orders in as possible before they start burning bridges.
Your language wasn’t harsh enough in my opinion, but it should be within the guidelines so I’m standing on your side on this one.
First of all, a miscommunication on my part.
Vrak cleared it up (aka. a clarification, not an announcement) at the start of the early access (only 3 days but still better than the 30 minutes you mentioned) and explained the miscommunication:
(Do read the full thread - I’m excluding information from the thread to make this post look neat and not just be quotes from Vrak.)
The roadmap in question seems to be wrong in other words, and that it wasn’t released by Blizzard but made by Blizzard’s release information. However that information wasn’t clear what they regarded as the campaign versus what others thought. So folks expected to be able to unlock earthen during the early access when that wasn’t the plan, and the final chapter of the campaign is released next week.
See above. The roadmap is apparently a summary rather than official material. Which is why it took me a while to write this out because I cannot find the roadmap anywhere close to anything Blizzard related, and when compared to the roadmap Blizzard used during DF … it doesn’t fit their style either.
So… the long and short of it: the roadmap’s wrong, and Blizzard engaged in unclear information which meant the roadmap was made with wrongfully interpreted information.
There is a lot of evidence to suggest they don’t know what they’re doing with wow and are being hard carried by the art/music teams.
