I know when launch is scheduled. But when can we expect servers to go down?

You know I really don’t remember, did servers go down for BFA or Legion? :thinking:

This leads me to believe they will not go down

Yes.

I know that sounds sarcastic but that’s the only guarantee. I’m not even going to try to get on the first two days. There will be emergency maintenance like there always is shortly after lol.

Yesterday.

From a client/server PoV, we are already playing the Shadowlands client. They just need to ‘flip the switch’ to enable the new content.

Unless they have a new update they want to push in the last 34 hours, there should be no shutdown at all, until the inevitable hotfixes that will come after the launch.

id try logging in before launch time because of queues. you will thank me later

So in other words a bajillion people will all try to log in at 6pm est crashing the logon servers which will require blizz taking 3 hours to fix it. So 9 pm ill log into a 500 people in queue. Ill get in by 9:30 play a whole 30 mins and go crap have to get to bed for work tomorrow. Lol.

Thats what I’m expecting anyways.

If anything does happen I am thinking probably nothing more then a rolling restart.

I expect a World Server Down within an hour after launch followed by authentication servers failing with a Ddos attack, all at once.

I predict a light dusting of QQ on the forums when people see the amount of unskippable RP from where you start till you get to the city lol.
Anyone who hates LK style RP where you sit and do nothing while NPCs yap isn’t going to be fond of the path to the city

expect to be able to play tuesday after 12 hour restart. you’re lucky if you get on before.

otherwise you’ll just be disappointed and if you’re on before its just bonus.

i did my QQ a few days ago when i heard about that, i’m all set to do all my reading up during that while i’m on follow with the one that likes the story stuffs. i hope it doesn’t phase us out on top of it, oh imma QQ. need more water for this salt.

When was the last time you leveled? Did they make that teleporter easier to find? The one that takes you up on the platform with the spikes moving in the center of the walkway? That wasn’t the easiest thing to locate, doesn’t glow or anything you just discover it on accident looking around.

I havent played it for i guess a month. I remember the platforms with the spikes and running around killing certain mobs for a quest.

I stopped playing it partially to not spoil release all the way, but mostly i didnt have the time if i wanted to get new chars to 50.

The maw is so heavily sharded, it won’t be too bad.

That was my theory of why Blizz decided to have everyone on top of each other questing. They must be pretty confident in their sharding tech :+1: We’ll test it for them later today :smiling_imp:
