When we do get Accountwide Rep... Will you play Alts more?

In fact, all the things that OP brough up with anima in that post were made at least partially account wide or had account wide elements for at least half of their lifespan.

OP has proven to just not a reliable source of information, and therefore most of his claims should be viewed with a pinch of salt.

Ahhh, interesting. I’m just not a fan of SL in general. I’d go into detail but I’d be writing a book on OP’s post, lol.

.

What benefit are you giving up that people are “hesitant” to switch? The sub-crafting-gear-level catchup gear? Some lame account-bound cosmetics?

No, this change would not make me play alts more.

If we do ever get account wide rep, i expect it would be that once you hit exalted, your alts become exalted too.
I wouldnt expect or want alts to contribute to the rep.

Should already be here. It is a 20yr old game but… indie company is slow due to having a bad games director.

I was under the assumption that renown was not included in this change , despite it being the same exact thing with a different name and with marginally better rewards

Considering I swap mains just to rock the same class but a different name I don’t think it’ll change anything for me. Reputations, items, and achvievements gotten by my old characters do not hold me to those characters.

Even if they only opened account wide for legacy reps I’d be pretty satisfied.

They have taken far too long to implement this.

It makes plenty of sense.

It means players can progress it with whomever they want on any given day. They would no longer be pushed to just do it on one character.

Just tie Rep Rewards tae achievements and ye’ve got tha fundamental thing most people want outta account-wide rep. Otherwise, they’d have to rework rep grinds tae be 3-4 times as long on a single character tae avoid cheesin’ tha grind with 10+ alts.

Well, duh. I’m never wrong about anything.

I would love account wide rep to be a thing. It’s exhausting and really just turns me off to the game when I have to do the same things over and over and over on each alt for either a recipe, a transmog, something blah blah.

Why would they need to rework old rep grinds?

Ion also said that accountwide rep wouldn’t apply to on expansion reputations.

Furthermore, Dragonflight has the ability to greatly speed up rep gain already and power isn’t tied to reputation going forward.

There’s no reason or logic in your statement.

Imagine if ye introductory questline tae a rep rewards about 3000 rep in total fer completin’ it. Now imagine ye’ve got 10 alts who all do tha same questline and get 3000 rep fer it…that’s 30,000 rep. That’s Revered in an afternoon as thing’s stand. That’s Exalted tha next day. Then what are ye goin’ tae do? Or rather, what are Blizzard going tae hold in front of ye to motivate ye to log on an’ play? Got no more rep tae grind daily fer new rewards, cosmetics, toys or gear. People keep complainin’ that there’s nae interesting content in tha world tae keep ‘em playin’. How long until Dungeon runs turn stale?

Nae, makin’ tha process account-wide is nae the answer. Makin’ tha rewards account-wide, now that is tha way tae go. Yer newly max level alt can log on, buy their rep gear straight away…so long as ye’ve done tha grind with at least one character. An’ if that’s still nae enough of a compromise in vision, then suppose that fer completin’ each chapter o’ a campaign or a pivotal quest in a questchain, ye get a commendation token fer the rep that’s account-bound; ye can send it tae ye main to help speed up tha grind somewhat.

Or just make rep factions account wide and go on lunch. - postit to the devs.
Okbye.

Make the intro quest rep a one time account thing.

Problem solved.

…and what about tha subsequent questline?

I see no issue with it. They’re old reps.

Take Dragonflight. I can boost my alt to max renown without ever playing as them.
