Will you be more open to changing your Main?
Ion did say that Accountwide rep is on their “to-do list”, but I have a strong feeling that we won’t see it until sometime next expansion as a selling point.

It will have zero impact on either of those things. With the rewards you get from rep these days it’s hardly worth bothering with one way or the other.

That’s completely untrue.
Plenty of players are hesitant to switch mains as they did all the grinding on their current main.

Itll definitely help. Grinding the same faction on multiple toons for tradeskill recipes and random transmog has to go. They’ve made great strides recently towards being alt friendly, this is another big step.

Theyve already done this with artisan rep. Im almost max on my main but have bought multiple recipes on alts from the rep vendor. So the technology is there.

Account-wide rep will never happen. Although the end benefits could be.

I’ve been going for the 100 reps achieve and all I can say is … seriously some of these are a joke… looking at you classic… I couldn’t imagine having to do these on more than one toon. Thank goodness the achieve is account wide progress

Nope, ever since they started with these massive campaign that are gated weekly, i stopped playing alts. I miss the times where i could level an alt via gathering, BG’s, Pet battles, archaeology or whatever, hit level cap and then straight away spam some heroic dungeons to start my gearing process.
Now there are too many quest chains, systems, unlocks and other nonsense that make alts such a chore. These days i just play the one character and I’m lucky to play for 1-2 hours a week outside of my weekly raid

Yeah just like the “cross-faction” guilds where you can’t play together.

That’s more of a technical issue that they have to work out over time.
I’m going to trust Ion, this time, about accountwide rep as he could have easily said “No” (as they did in the past), when instead he said that they are working on it. The biggest hurdle is getting it to work properly.

Here’s what would happen with account-wide rep. Let’s take the Enlightened rep in Zereth Mortis as an example.
- I take Brewa here to ZM and get 2100 rep from the intro questline.
- I get on my Druid and do the intro questline and he gets an additional 2100 rep, so both characters are now Friendly.
- I get on my Priest and do the intro questline and get another 2100 rep so all 3 characters are now 3300 into Friendly.
- I get on my Death Knight and do the intro questline and get 2100 rep and all of my guys now are 5400 friendly.
- I get on my Paladin and do the intro questline and get 2100 rep and all of my characters are now Honored.
Repeat with as many alts as I have.
That’s why there will never be account-wide rep.
*** HOWEVER ***
We know that Blizzard can make vendors where the requirement to buy an item is an achievement.
Just change the vendors who sell items that “Requires Reputation: Exalted with X” to “Requires Achievement: Exalted with X”.
Achievements are account-wide.
Fixed.
Like I said, you can get the benefits of account-wide rep easily enough. But actual account-wide rep will never happen.

That’s a poor excuse.
That’s OLD content. Why should you care if someone does that on content that is irrelevant? If they got multiple alts that can do Zerith Mortis then more power to them.
Ion said that Accountwide wouldn’t apply to On Expansion Rep.
So, that argument holds no water.

And that argument doesn’t matter, because it’s old/outdated content that players are one shotting most things there anyway.
So, what’s your point? It doesn’t affect you at all and has no bearing to current content which wouldn’t be accountwide until after an Expansion is over.
