oh they actually plan on the rep to be account -wide but not all the rewards will be given if you don’t earn them. In particular I believe they have excluded profession patterns from being given if you haven’t earn them.
So yes this won’t fix people’s problems anyway.
How is it not earning them? All the requirements are is rep.
This gatekeeping on older content is ridiculous.

Especially since Rep is no longer giving gear that’s relevant anymore. It’s mainly for cosmetics and recipes.

If you were meant to be Exalted the first day (which is what account-wide rep would mean), Blizzard wouldn’t have reputations at all.
Nothing stops you from doing that, it’s arguably even easier

For old reps it doesn’t matter. There is no concern for that as Ion said already that it wouldn’t apply accountwide for on expansion reps - when they’re current content.

Yes it is. Did you just skip SL? It was extremely alt unfriendly. From Torghast, the Maw, Korthia, Zerith Mortis, as well as Covenant anima. All of which had to be farmed (without Flying) and weren’t accountwide. This was tied towards gearing as well.

Anima was only for cosmetics and such, it was irrelevant for alts.

I really feel like rep on alts in in a fairly decent place right now. Sure, it’s no account-wide, but at Renown 20 on my main, that’s triple rep up to 10 and double up to 20 for alts, which is pretty nice!
That being said, I barely play my alts. There are just too many things I can do on my main. I still bum around on them a little bit, I like lvling professions, but I haven’t even done weekly profession quests since 10.1 came out. Just too much work delving into the caverns.

Nope. I raided mythic every tier rotating between 4 mains (rogue/warlock/mage/hunter) while also pushing 1800 on multiple toons (rogue/mage/warrior/druid/hunter)
It had some issues very early on in SL but it was fixed very early on.
The same type of zones that have been in every expansion. Was argent tournament unfriendly?
Anima was worthless outside of cosmetics.
Yet I had zero issues with gearing.
They aren’t lies. Just because you struggle with gearing toons doesn’t make the game alt unfriendly.
