I didn’t play in TBC, and was a WOTLK Baby. I am looking for some input from actual players, not guides, on about what point should a warlock make a move from Fire to Shadow? Is it with the full Shadow Tailoring set? A certain phase?
Around 6:45 p.m. PST
Guides are made by players.
“Player”
I want to see what the community has to say.
When there’s no fire mage in the group.
It’s not often forum troll druids make me laugh out loud.
Fire is BiS until SWP. You will be long out of the crafted gear by then.
Join the warlock discord and you will get a lot more discussion from players. Also the good guides are written by one player but on the general consensus of a lot more players, it’s not just one guy writing some random stuff he came up with on his own.
Shadow because that lets you respec into something that isn’t total dogsh!t for solo questing and farming when you aren’t raiding. Makes up for the small raid dps decrease.
Enjoy never parsing above a 60 lol
Yup. Destro is pretty rough for questing and farming. Demo and affliction are so much better at it and FSW is what they want to use. Same can be said for pvp. At least if you are demo or affliction in the open world, you aren’t a free kill.
Shadow destro can’t be that far behind fire.
ALL the pumpers are fire, they parse as a single spec. You will never make up the gap.
You could just stick with affliction if it makes you happy. Every single raid wants an affliction lock. They aren’t anywhere near top tier, but they are too useful to not have.
Pumpers are… well… you gotta wonder about dudes who advertise themselves as “big d!ck pumpers” every chance they get.
Whenever you’re voluntold
You gotta PUMP out that damage baby!
PS - I hate this particular term but eh, that’s just how jargon goes.
If you care about logs then play fire.
Otherwise play what you want. Great thing about Warlock is it’s all good.
I played shadow for almost 2 years in classic and needed a break. Levelled as demo and now am playing fire. It’s fun as hell.
Thanks for some of the feedback. Ill most likely stick with fire then because im usually paired with a fire mage as we cant find any shadow priests for our lives.
Is the holdup here about the crafted sets? It’s the exact same spec if you are DS/Destro. If you have a fire mage, cast incinerate. If you have a shadow priest, cast shadowbolt.
