When naming your characters how do your names usually go?

Do you usually name your characters after people, yourself, food, or characters? Or do you just smash your keyboard and be like, “hm this is good.”

I can’t imagine ANYONE naming their characters after food

I just have one name and then I just use different punctuation, special symbols or extra letters to it :stuck_out_tongue:

Neither can I, those people must be really weird.

I know a friend who names his after drinks. Close enough.

My characters names are mostly what I have played other games with. My main in WoW is something from a movie and my next character was a childhood nickname and was my main in EQ. This character’s name was used years ago in EQ and I have several variations of it for some alts here in WoW, it makes me smile. :slightly_smiling_face: Other random alts have also been goofy names that make me smile. Nothing random.

Usually class related, with a bit of crude humour.

Druid = Skozzah (Slang for bogan/feral female in Aus)
Warlock = Ahsoul
Paladin = Figjam
DK = Necroteety (Yes, she’s a Tauren)

Got plenty of character names I grew to hate too, but those are ones that didn’t follow this making convention, so now I know better.

Depends on the server and faction. Most are random names that I’ve tweaked cause I thought they sounded fitting.

This server though, I have all ‘real’ names. Tony, Eric, Jason, Dan, David, etc. No accented letters, of course. I cling to these boys now.

I usually pick something you’d be called be a lover (baby, darling, love, honey etc) then add “kinz” to it.

My name, music (like this guy), and anime usually. I also have just random names I like.

I don’t know why, but every time I see your name I sometimes read it as “butkick”

I think that’s kinda the point. :rofl:

Better than butt tick or butt lick like some people have told me :laughing:

I have a mental list of all the names I’d like to have in-game and when I think of a new one I add it to the list so that I can try to reserve it on my realm or some other full or high pop realm. I came up with Blinktron for a mechagnome mage for example, but I had to make it on Moon Guard

After anime characters, or after whatever their purpose is. If they pass butter, I’m naming them Butters or Margerine, something like that.

It seems to work for Saiyans! (Dragonball lol) Then again, the naming conventions in that franchise are weird all around. We got a family that name themselves after underwear garments.

As for me; I either spend a few minutes thinking of a name; failing that I use the Random Name Generator.

I have two characters where I used acronyms and two where I used adjectives from a different language.

My original character name from back in 2009 was from a random name generator that supposedly did “elf names.” When I came back this year, I wanted a change.

I have a really bad habit of using Tolkien names. I just race changed my shaman to a dwarf and named her Dís (Fili and Kili’s mother, the only dwarf woman to be named by Tolkien). Oooh, I did reserve Veeshàn for when dracthyrs come, which is an EQ dragon from back in the day. :joy:

A mix of everything really. Except food. Honestly, I find people that name their characters after food as zero-personality NPCs IRL, no offense of course.

I just go with the flow
