When is warcraft 2 movie coming out?

The first movie came out 5 years too late to capitalize on the buzz from the game. It was doomed to fail.

The movie was good and well made for what it was, but 1) it diverged too far from the game storyline to be super interesting to anyone that isn’t into alternate timelines, and 2) it continuity locked anyone who wasn’t familiar with the games.

Has there ever been a movie where orcs don’t look completely off? I’m not talking about stuff like Lotr where you can only see them for only a seconds in large battles but as actual “acted” important characters.

Just make a “movie” in cinematic quality imo.

It really wasn’t good. It suffered from a lot of problems. I wouldn’t mind more wow media. I greatly enjoyed the tokyopop run. The movie though…it was rough.

Issue is scale… they are to unnaturally big imo. Something massive like an orge works but an orc hits some weird uncanny valley in most mediums. Your mind just kind of knows something shaped that way shouldn’t be as mobile as it is.

Yes, but I mostly mean to get an orc character to “act”, have dialogues etc and not look completely weird or just off. I don’t think I’ve seen this and I’m not sure if it can be done.

Maybe it’s just warcraft orcs lol

Sounds like a skill issue with them not being brave to do what must bne done

I was gonna see the movie by myself, but gf at that time cried to come with me. (dudette, you have no idea about anything, why bother, just stay at home.) And yeah, during the movie, she was like what’s that, what’s happening, why did he do that…
I spent 30 bucks on snacks just to shut her up. God, it was awful.
I know the movie sucked, but I could have enjoyed it more if I was alone. smh

it would have to be fully cgi. humans/cgi just does not work. well, unless they get avatar director and that level of money for it, lol.

They’re gonna do a second movie? The first one went so far from the source material and was overall pretty bad. I’d be shocked if they made a 2nd.

that would prob sell some people will watych him regardless of what he is in.

Look up Henry Cavill Arthas… he wants the role really bad.
Hope he gets it. I will watch it if he is in it. WCII games don’t have enough in them to make full movies out f but WC3 most certainly does. Enough lore in there to make a movie with WC3 RoC and WC3 TFT

The problems with the first one were mostly due to stupidity. Firstly, the film was funded by Legendary, a Chinese company who exercised a lot of control over the content. Then, Blizzard personnel were allowed to tinker with the plot and the film was entirely shot on set, giving it an overall fake feeling. CGI took the place of realism; it required a lot of CGI due to the Orcs and so on, and if it had been filmed out in the world (as Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones were) that would have been balanced by that sense of real world.

The pick for the time of the story wasn’t that bad, it was a fairly pivotal time in the history of Azeroth, but the writing and a lot of the dialogue had issues. Duncan Jones had a lot to contend with, including a number of studio swaps and interference, but he still hoped at the time there would be more films afterwards. Unfortunately the film failed to appeal to general audiences and just didn’t make enough to warrant its huge costs.

High Elves and Blood Elves are biologically & cosmically the same race …

Politically though?

Blood Elves didn’t even exist yet in the first Warcraft movie, because the apex event that’d caused the majority 99.9% of their race to change their name to ‘Blood Elves’ had not occurred yet. :person_shrugging:

The movie had a hard time pulling people. It wasn’t quite a competent fantasy action flick and it had two huge problems-

1: Way too much time spent on content that wont have pay offs till a theoretical Warcraft 3 movie.

2: For as much time as they spent cleaning up and refining the CGI side of things the hammy dialogue and camp for the live action side…sucked. And that’s before we talk about Garona.

The movie was trying to do way too much when it should have focused on a bog standard Orcs Vs. Humans plot with the occasional cameo like the dwarves and the Medivh / Khadgar betrayal plot.

Daneil Wu was awesome in that movie. I always hated Gul’dan until I saw that movie.

One scene? If that?

I don’t have anything against Henry Cavill but people are acting like the guy is box office gold and that just really isn’t supported by his career results.

What’s with people asuming Henry Cavill automatically makes a movie the best thing in the universe.

Yes the Superman movies were “ok” but I don’t understand this frenzy about people wanting Henry Cavill to star in every single movie.
