When in Wolf Form Not Able To Use Any Abilities Except For Shifting Out of Wolf Form

Hey everyone, I have checked the forums and internet for fixes on this.

While in Wolf form, it will not let me cast most my abilities (only movement based abilites). I have tried
/console autounshift 1
/console autounshift 2
/console autounshift 3
Disabling all of my addons

I am honestly not sure what else to do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you,

That’s bc you can’t. There is a talent that lets you cast certain spells and totems without shifting out of GW.

I’m curious to what you mean.

Do you mean while in ghost wolf, once you are in range of your target, if you press SS it doesn’t bring you out of GW and use the ability?

Are you wondering why you can’t do your rotation from GW without getting removed from GW?

Using any abilty in gw removes you from gw, unless you talent into being able to purge and cast totems from gw. You can not use any dps/heal abilities (outside of totems if talent taken) while in gw, it will auto remove you.

I just have my ghost wolf form as a key bind to mouse button #7. But, I also have 7 other key binds to the mouse and 10 key binds to my keyboard. So, sometimes you hit the wrong button LOL

(edti) and that’s still not enough. There are abilities I still have to glance at the action bars and mouse press an ability. Not many, but still a lot of extra stuff we could reduce. I mean 18 key binds and still not enough says something about our rotation. (end edit)

When in Ghost Wolf form, if I press SS it doesn’t bring me out of GW and use the ability.

So if I shift into Ghost Wolf form, I must shift out of Ghost Wolf form, then use a Damage ability.

Wanting to fix where when I use an ability it will autoshift me out of Ghost Wolf form.

Do you have a macro with SS? Or is it straight from the spell book?

Every damage ability should shift you out of GW. Have you switched specs back and forth? Sometimes you can get wonky bugs that reset with a change in spec/build.

Hey Tumble, no macros, doesn’t matter what I press it doesnt shift me out.

I have swapped between specs quite a bit

Are you in melee range when hitting SS? Is it only an issue with SS or does it do it with lava lash as well?

What type of mouse do you have? If it has a button #7, I will buy it on Amazon today.

I need more buttons.

Where the OP is concerned, this sounds like some “hard option” has been checked, since all actions are prevented while in GW, and it seems like it’s only happening to you.

If you haven’t already tried this, I would disable all Addons and see if the issue persists

Logitech G502 Hero. The mouse wheel is 3 buttons and scroll feature. It’s completely programmable and the software allows a lot of customization. I use the wired version but the wireless works just fine. Their ‘lightning’ technology basically reduces lag to a point that you won’t notice.

If you’re doing competitive stuff, I don’t recommend the wireless one just because it could drop the signal.

I’m on my second mouse in 10 years. The buttons just wear out is all.

Great mouse. The software is fine.

(edit) and it’s easy to use. It’s not like that corsair with 90234325 buttons. The buttons are big enough that you can feel the difference and far enough away that you shouldn’t accidentally press multiple buttons. I highly recommend it. (end edit)

Logitech G502 Hero I can’t link it here but that’s it. It’s a little pricey but it’s worth it IMO.

Actually, it’s on sale right now on Logitech’s website. Normally $70 - $100 but on sale now for $40. That’s an awesome deal! In fact, I’m going to buy another one for when my current one stops working in 10 years from now!

Just picked one up, thanks for the recommendation. I’ve been using the same mouse for a long time and it only has 2 buttons other than the scroll wheel.

Playing Elemental, but it does not matter where I am at when pressing any of the abilities, it will not shift me out of Wolf form.

Just attempted to disable all addons and the behavior still persists.

Just eavesdropping here 
 but another great mouse for enhancement is the utechsmart mmo mouse. Silly name. Pretty solid mmo mouse for about $40

12 programmable buttons, it might be windows only but if you don’t have windows you can program on a windows WM and use it on another OS because it has memory of your configs inside.

Can’t link thinks here but just look it up! Used to be called the “Venus” or something.

That’s bizarre, I’ve seen many bugs over the years but nothing like that. And you said none of your abilities are tied into macros? Like they aren’t in a /cancelaura macro or /stopcast macro or a /use trinket macro?
