When in Wolf Form Not Able To Use Any Abilities Except For Shifting Out of Wolf Form

It is super strange, I am to the point where I’m about to uninstall and reinstall the game.

I do have some macros, however I can’t cast any abilities (even the ones that aren’t tied to macros)

Before you do a full re-install, I recommend you do some stuff first.

  1. back up ALL your addons, weak aura’s, save all macros, make back up wtf/cache/interface folders in your wow retail folder. (edit) don’t save them to your wow folder at all. I put mine on my desktop so there’s very little chance WOW will locate them (end edit).

  2. once you’ve done ALL of those, then delete the wtf, cache, and interface folders in your wow retail folder.

  3. Start wow without any addons or anything other than wow. This establishes your wtf, cache, and interface folders to default.

  4. once you’ve booted wow up to default, then slowly start adding your addons one at time and then run wow to check if that causes your problem again.

This is how to perform a hard reset, and it is typically what Blizzard will ask you to do as the very first step to resolve issues like yours.

Whenever I’ve gotten to that point, it almost always solves my issue.

There’s a setting in options to not auto dismount when you use an ability. Think it’s specifically for flying mounts though, but maybe you have that on?

Deleted the cache, deleted WTF, deleted Interface folders. I am still unfortunately unable to get out of Wolf form outside of recasting shapeshift.

I checked the settings to not auto dismount when using an ability and it is checked.
I am able to cast while mounted which automatically dismounts me.

could be your toon then. Do you have another shaman? if no, might be time to test out a shaman class trial character and see if the bug carries over?

And, just to be sure, you are actually targeting something you can attack when you try to switch out of GW using an ability, correct?

Yes I am attempting to target something I can attack when attempting to switch out of GW.

I created a new trial shaman and the behavior was the same.

I also completely uninstalled and reinstalled the game.

Last thing I can think of is trying to completely reset keybindings.

It has been extremely frustrating lol.
