When do you think we'll get playable tinker class?

I guess the best way to explain it is I probably have around the same level of disgust for Tinkers that you do for Death Knights, except that to me, Tinkers were never a big part of the Warcraft universe.

…and the other difference would be while I would never play a Tinker myself, I’d also be happy never having to see a dumb robot /mech class archetype running around either.

Hope that helps.

The second Monday after hell freezes over.

Well, the tinker can’t be added as a specialization, yet the Dark Ranger can.

Well, when Blizzard actually wants the Alliance to exist. I’ll be over here, sitting in my corner, waiting for forsaken to get a blight class, or the hunters to get a ranger spec.

Okay explain this for someone that never played WC3

What the heck do tinkers even do?

Here’s my Explination that good for someone who never played WC3. Or even RTS.

Tinkers were a Hero Unit: (In the Campaign, To lead your army you get powerful units with abilities that later became the classes in WoW. Like Arthas the Paladin, Jaina the Archmage, or Thrall the Farseer) Tinkers were one such hero unit and they were very unique.

They were the only Hero Unit that was Melee, but Used Intellect as their Primary stat.
The Fought Up close and personal, Using Gadgets and Gizmos.

Specifically their abilites:
A Pocket Factory. Which could be placed down and continously produce “Clockwork Goblins” that would seek enemies and Explode.
Cluster Missiles: which was a powerful ranged attack that Stunned enemies.
And “Robo-Goblin” which Gave the Tinker a Big Mech to pilot. The Mech massively Increased Armor, Attack Damage, and made the Tinker resistant to CC Effects, and Immunity to Hexes and Polymorphs.

So a Lot of People Think the Pocket Factories, and Cluster Missiles could translate into a Ranged DPS spec. (Turrets and Missile attacks)
And the Mech Suit could Translate into a Tank Spec. (Mech Suit Pilot)

TL;DR
The Tinker’s Abilities would translate Nicely into WoW Abilites.
That’s where shaman got Chain Lightning, Hex and Earthquake.
It’s where mage got Blizzard, Water Elemental, and Teleports. Etc Etc.

They can’t even make Engineering as a profession good, you don’t want tinker.

I always like how you get all these people coming in bashing the idea like the game can’t have things added that don’t appeal to them when it appeals to others and is a concept well represented in game.

Necromancers, tinkers, and void casting knights are all things I’d like to see added to play as.

Here’s an old tinker concept that was pretty well done and sounded like it’d be pretty fun to play as.

next xpac will be about light end void so first we will have new velf customizations with belf hairstyles end paladinos for velfs 2

tinkers will come affter it

I’ve had a few suggestions that I put up in other threads, but I was thinking tank spec would definitely be in a mech suit they could hop into similar to a druid shapeshift. Healing spec could be like a pure support class, lots of temp buffs, shields, gadget use, and heals, like toss a land mine that heals instead of damages, throw a robot out to protect a group member for a limited time, etc. DPS could be duel guns, turrets, lasers, freeze guns like Mekkatorque used in SoO. That sort of thing. They have a abilities that can be pulled from WC3 and HoTS.

Tinker Dranei is something I’ve been dreaming of for a long while I really hope this happens as a big scifi nerd I’ve really wanted a tech class it’d be awesome if it had a gunner spec as well.

This sounds ridiculous.

Blizz made way too many professions that should have been a class. Engineering an alchemist mainly

I would love to finally have a technology class in WoW. We have Airships, Tanks, Machine Guns, Helicopters, Robots, Tesla Guns, Sniper rifles with advanced optics, You name it. We have everything we need and more to make it happen.

Hopefully never. Tinker, Bard and Necromancer are so boring and cliche and covered by other classes and professions.

How is Tinker a cliche? Especially compared to classes like warrior, mage, hunter, and monk?

I pray next expansion… or sooner if blizzard can manage…

Blizzard has managed to apply their own style, esthetic, spin on the classic fantasy niche of the artificer through the Tinker and it’s a damn shame that we can’t ‘live’ that fantasy to its fullest.

I want to use rocket jets to hurtle myself into battle, using ingenuity, quick wits, and gadgets to lay waste to my enemies and bolster my allies!

Yep.

I don’t think that the “3rd era of WoW” is interested in the RTS games, tbh.

So, no tinker’s for us.

When’s this coming out?
