I heard a survival guide for patch 8.1 but why is it that there is no date on when these Allied races unlock?
We need a set date.

Probably because they aren’t coming with 8.1.
Kul’Tirans are on the Alliance, but Zandalari don’t join the Horde until after the raid.
And god forbid Blizzard give the Alliance something before the Horde.
Yeah… when are they coming?
6 Months probably
patch 8.1.5 at the earliest.
Well that’s just wrong…
They should be here in patch 8.1.5. Which will be at some point after the raid releases in January. So maybe March or so I’d guess.
At Blizzcon they were listed for release with 8.1.5, and if we’re following the precedent set by previous x.5 patches, it will likely be 3 months after the release of the previous patch, so March is the earliest we can expect it.
Why would you get Kul Tirans before we got Zandalari? Kul Tirans weren’t even originally planned to be added to BfA, the whole reason there’s a delay for Zandalari is because they decided to wait to add them.
In the story the Kul Tirans started off hostile towards the Alliance while the Zandalari openly invited the Horde.
thwy said sometime after nezt raid i believe. thats last i heard
So, I understand Zandalari having to wait until 8.1.5. They don’t officially join the Horde until after the Battle of Dazar’alor. They’re allies of the Horde but not members of the Horde until Talanji and Sylvanas make a deal after Rastakhan’s… incident. However, Kul’Tiras joined the Alliance at the end of Kul’Tiras questing in 8.0, when Jaina was officially passed leader by Katherine and ratified by Lucille, Pike, and Tandred. So, is there a reason Alliance have to wait until Horde get Zanda…
Kul’Tirans are already on the Alliance.
Zandalari are not on the Horde until after the raid.
Ion outright stated that although the Allied Races will always come in pairs, Horde and Alliance will not always get their Allied Races at the same time in the future, but apparently he only meant that when the Horde will get theirs first.
This is super disappointing to me. I’m desperate to make a Zandalari Druid and now we have to wait even longer? Honestly, who cares about what the raid says.

To be honest, what they SHOULD do is make it so the unlock requirements for Kul’Tirans are available when 8.1 launches (just make the requirement be finishing Kul’Tiran questing), and the unlock requirements for Zandalari are available once you have the Battle for Dazar’alor achievement on one of your characters.
So the alliance would just have to quest to lvl 120, While the horde would have to lvl, gear, and start raiding before they can unlock?
Ok, just don’t complain when your same arbitrary standards are the other way around. We both know you will though.
Just because you don’t get something doesn’t mean someone else can’t have it. That’s just childish.
Maybe. Regardless, I already have Exalted with both factions so I would have liked use the races sooner…
Soon™
Its getting ridiculous. Its almost as if Allied Races were more about getting people to level new toons in the middle of an expac to pad out time played rather than giving us something new and interesting from the start.
What about the next set of allied races after that? Are they banking on people rolling an entirely new toon for each raid tier or just buying a ton of race changes?
Some time in February is the earliest I know.
Imagine the reaction to Burning Crusade if you weren’t able to play a Draenei or Blood Elf until like 8-10 months after launch after seeing all the hype about these races joining the alliance/horde.
Well, it still would have been better than BFA because BC was better. but the QQ would have been very strong.
Personally, I have been ready to ditch my alliance druid and flip it to a Zandalari since Zandalari druids were announced.
