When do i need to buy The War Within?

Hi
I haven’t played WoW for a while
I think the last expansion I bought was Mists of Pandera
I am thinking of returning to the game and want to know if I can just subscribe and then level up to 70 before I buy The War Within or do I need to buy it now
I’ve done some reading and it looks like the current leveling path is through Dragonflight. Can I still follow this path without The War Within or do I need to buy it straight away?

You can come back and just add game time or a subscription and be fine until level 71+ content, yes. That’ll take you all the way through Dragonflight.
