Is there a cap per weak? When I look at them it says Season Maximum: 90/90

I think it increases by 90 each week, according to the last article I read. Just to add the blue notes below

Its 90 but quest rewards from story / renown don’t seem to count towards it as I have 121 and my count says 47/90.

Same i have 117 but it says 67/90 of the whelpling crests and 105 90/90 Drake’s Dreaming Crests

Some quest/renown rewards specifically state “Do not count towards the limit.”

That said I’m still trying to figure out how y’all are even getting Whelp Crests. I’m only finding Drake Quests. Lmao.

Right? I’m at like 4 out of the 15 I need for the quest.

I started getting a message that said something about reaching the cap of Drake crests so they would be awarded as whelp crests. Every time i loot them it shows the purple Drake’s and then that amount goes into my whelp total.

I finished the get 15 by getting to renown 4, as part of the rewards for that you get 15 whelps crests. also some of the world quests gave whelp crests. Also here is the wowhead page the comments have some good info.

So how come can i not upgrade ANY of them, only downgrade them? Am i missing something?

my guess is either need to wait for season 3 to start, and/or need all season 3 gear at the correct level for that to kick in.

if you collect the dreamsurge nodes that are in the zone of the dreamsurge you get 2 crests per node.

You can’t upgrade until the lower lvl crests are worthless to your toon. In other words, every gear slot needs to reach a certain lvl before you can upgrade.

But they did not say what ilvl that would be. I mean, do i somehow have to reach ilvl 437 in each slot to be able to upgrade crests? Because now, i can only downgrade at the trader. Like wth?

my thinking is you need to have season 3 gear in each slot for the upgrade feature to become active, because season 2 gear can not be upgrades now.

This is just a guess and I could be wrong 450 to upgrade to drakes. The reason why I think it’s 450 is because my shoulders need drakes now to upgrade.

so you would need every slot to be 450 or higher to be able to upgrade whelpling crest into drake and so on for the next level.

edit to add:

Trade-ups will cost a 6-to-1 ratio. Once trade-up is available, players can spend 90 crests to get 15 crests of the higher level. This will count toward both the cap on the lower level crest being spent (since you have to earn them) and the higher level Crest being purchased, so players have no incentive to do lower-level content for crests, though if they are not capped, then they will still be able to get some benefit.

Ive hit the cap apparently for the season 75 on main 15 on 1 alt second main has been “earning them” but not actually earning them due to this garbage cap system.

Another Inept Idea by these guys to ruin the gamewithin the first 2 days of a patch release well done.

I have recently learned. 90 Is the total amount you can currently have across all toons. So if you need to spend them on alts make sure other alts/Main have burnt through theres first.

Edit. I found outafter testing again that this is false. the 90 Cap is set and cant be surpassed sadly so hold off on alts to a degree. I now know why this was capped seeing as we got atlease 6+ months of 10.2/2.5 or longer before TWW is launched. Makes sense if you look at it that way. I would of preferred same crest system or something else and it not ben on the currency tab where blizz can add perameters to it such as this.

This…seems like a MAJOR bug. Have you reported it in game and on the bug report forum?

I haven’t played an alt yet, but I’m at cap on my main naturally…and if I can’t earn ANY on my alts because of this, that’s pretty gamebreaking.
