I want a massive kitchen so I can make bread and big batches of soup.
Then when Alliance come…
Huh?

Off the top of my head as someone who has never played a game with player housing.
NOT a Warband shared house, I want a different looking house for all of my characters, however would be cool if you could select alts to visit, or be there if you wanted them to visit.
Wouldn’t mind other visting NPCs, I love how the garrisons have your followers, always loved the idea of that, and sadly those characters never show up anywhere else. Would be cool if npcs from garrisons or class halls could be selected to visit.
The ability to put furniture, shelves etc anywhere, and items on them or against them. If I want to lay a sword on a table or across a chair or bed, I should be able to.
Able to select battle pets to roam, maybe up to 5 or 10 or more, thinking Crazy Cat Lazy levels of pets, lol.
Hunter pets able to roam an outside area, one or two inside tops.
A couple mounts parked or in a penned in area, or guarding your home.
Base house, with the options to fully decorate or select by race or even class. I don’t want a castle like stormwind or huts like orgrimmar.
Don’t want to have to pay for it either, maybe get a few things later through the trading post but the house should be free, not everyone has millions or even hundreds of thousands of gold and they shouldn’t miss out on it because of that.
Jukebox with a lot of music options.
Mailbox.
Specific hearthstone or hearthstone toy to your home.
The ability to adjust lighting, like if you have a couple candles or just a fireplace, it should have the appropriate lighting, or a bunch, or lamps etc.
I would personally love an evergreen location like a massive courtyard where you could walk out your door and see everyone else and visit, like a big city, so people could still interact with others. Not everyone has friends or people that would visit their home, so would be fun to see other’s homes and designs, at least from the outside.
Good for now, assuming anyone even reads all of this, lol.
The problem is, the corporate bean-counters have more pull, and if some money hungry person says “Hey, let’s take that cool rep/achievement reward mount and toss it on the store instead” nobody can really argue with them… they’ll just move the mount from the initial location and replace it with a boar or horse number 500 lol
Same crap would happen if they didn’t feel like they were getting enough engagement out of a patch during playtesting, that’s where the time gates and other restrictions start getting tacked on
What are they going to vote on?
I want to choose 50 pets to wonder around inside my house.
Not that kinda poll, i shoulda said pole
I know. I was being a goof.
“Welcome to Durotar Hoarders! On tonight’s show, she isn’t just a cat lady, she’s got scorpions, wolves, floating eyes, pink elephants, mechanical squirrels, giant spiders…”
Keeping it simple. My choice in racial aesthetic. I swear if we get Human Alliance and Orc Horde like Garrisons again…
I mean it’s fine if you’re human or orc but what about the other races?
Hell, maybe as an Orc I’d like stuff from other races. Can’t be spikes all the time.
I want proper customisation (choice of house types, lots of different items you can place in all racial styles, etc). I hope for Wildstar levels, but I would be thrilled with ESO, EQ2, and Rift levels too. I also want choices about where to have it. I would love to have a home in somewhere like Valdrakken rather than just Stormwind. Being able to have your alts hang around your house would be neat too, but I am not holding my breath.
I do not really want player power tied to it at all. I do not mind if it has things like crafting stations, though.
And yeh, I agree with the OP. Let people come and see it. Decorating is one of the most fun parts of housing. Having people see your hard work, and being able to tour the hard work of others is an amazing time. I always love to see how creative people are.
i want to be to take any fish that is catchable in the game and be able to put it on a plaque and hang it on my wall, starting with Old Ironjaw from the Forge.
“Or benefits’
I didn’t do housing ESO so couldn’t tell you there.
Or rift … actually was only playing rift the first year it was out so maybe I left before housing.
But whatever not anything said after my first post changes my opinion. No buffs or benefits I think it’s a waste.
People want to get upset constantly because someone’s opinion doesn’t support theirs … then people got issues.
I like the building customisation from Wildstar, but not how the home is the central focus of the game. I want to play mostly outside my home.
Want:
I want to be able to invite friends over and be able to play a WOW version of Liar’s Bar.
Destroy homes, so war.
Moonkins
Ability to transform into a house
Don’t:
ngl idk
Make it cost a token of gold per month rent for the poor house then make bigger more expensive housing and tie a bunch of stuff to it like flight speed bank storage and all sorts of t mog.
I farm at my house, so I want a garden. Something that grows relevant current food content for my characters. It can be a mixture of veg or chicken/small livestock/herbs for healing. It DOES NOT require a stupid work order. It just spawns daily. I harvest it or I don’t. Harvest = item, let fallow = time sensitive to be picked within 3 days seeds or eggs.
If I had a bigger property I’d also run Aquaponics, so I feel like we should have a fishable well. Not always getting fish. Maybe a coin, a toad, something weird. Something like the Hyper Condensed Ocean - which I still think they should update with current fish.
Edit: As a druid, I’d want a healing tree. Sit under it and meditate to heal. Gather some leaves for healing. Whatever. The big Willows in WoD would be a fine starting example.
Can a human and an undead have half-undead offspring
I’m gonna fill my house will water and have all sorts of fish inside. Whale shark. Squids. All sorts of things
Yes to these.
I do want a limited profession element, but to your point, not something that keeps me there long. Something like a small garden patch where I can plant a limited crop and harvest once a week for a bonus of like a few stacks of herbs. I don’t want it to be the only way I get something specialized. I just want it to be an extra layer.
This may get me some heat, but I want it to be priced like warband bank. First one is cheap, but gets prohibitively expensive the more you buy. No one should have more than a couple.
1000% this. don’t make it complicated blizz.
Yes, yes, yes
I’ll add a few extra things:
