thats why most of us on here are on here right now, telling Blizzard thanks for not bringing us a TBC or Wrath Server(sarcasm) that just stays and doesn’t progress further into Cata/Mop.
I wanted like many others to have a TBC Server launch Fresh that you all start from lvl 1 to 70, and although it isn’t my cup of tea I stand with those who wanted a Wrath server from 1 to 80 as well…
I did not want yet another Vanilla experience when there is already so many options.

Same reason OSRS players like to play OSRS forever, Everquest andies like to play Everquest, League of Legends degens like to play League, and the list goes on…
We like this specific game, and quite frankly many of us don’t like any of the new design decisions modern designers make.

Its fun. Classic era sucks because everything is unlocked and I cant do a raid without people in zg and naxx gear.

I think the main goal is TBC. My guess is hard capping it at vanilla just artificially extends, and supplies content for those who have asked for fresh. It makes the TBC guys sorta happy because they know we are getting tbc eventually and gives the fresh people something to enjoy also… My personal opinion is they should make minor changes, pallies on horde, shamans on alliance, dual spec, make boomkins spell cost less mana, pally taunt, yada yada, because we have already had classic and it could use tiny non game breaking changes.
or import some of the changes they made in TBC into classic. whatever they deem makes sense.

SoD isn’t the same thing, it’s got a ton of changes and seems to be about everyone having the same experience. I didn’t like it so didn’t play it.
Era is ok. I’m glad it will still be there. Not the same though.
There hasn’t been a similar fresh for 5 years.
Yes, some people want TBC or Classic + or whatever now but this was Blizzards decision. I’ve been disappointed many times by their choices.

TBC is a nice hook to this for some. Granted it comes a bit later, but it comes.
Plus one more menethil marsh death march for a night elf won’t be so bad.
You can make it a game. the dude who does wow cartoons on the internet actually made a cartoon for this night elf death march too.
You can play that on monitor 2 as you do it. Its actually very accurate. and oddly more enjoyable to watch morbidly enough.

I like the community experience of everybody leveling up together. And then ranking up together as a community in BG’s and not having to face rank 14s on day one.

SoD isn’t Vanilla, it’s Vanilla plus.
Current Classic servers are full of GDKP and Boost spam.
The economy is screwed up too.
Level 10 greens are 1-3 gold.

Cata side…I’d not begrudge an actually new new player saying wth…lets buy a token.
there is no love for new folks on cata ah. Even at say 20K gold…a new new player can safely guestimate 10K on expenses to level 85.
that is not BIS Boe either. than can be crafteds. or the stacks of mats for them.
And that is bare minimal flight. Stage 1 slow speed with cold weather.

cool, now we’ve established a split in the community that requires seperate servers with different iterations of the game.
Fresh is cool but I’m here for the TBC aspect. Hoping they keep TBC around and not scrap it after the fact.

The precedent was set with classic, unfortunately. And now the game is a mess across the board with five different versions (four if you don’t count hardcore).
As much as I’ve enjoyed my time in classic → Wrath, I feel it would have been neater overall if they’d just kept it to retail and left those who wanted classic to the private servers.

man we’re smarter than Blizz right now… wonder how we can solve this issue…
Because its not like we actually have GMs for each server anymore, we kinda just set them and forget them these days…
Why do you people care what we play? Is your ego so fragile that someone playing something you don’t bothers you?
The fact of the matter is, fresh vanilla servers have been cycling for over a decade, it’s always a blast yet for some reason, there’s always these wall of no Andy’s in protest and they lose every time.
