Whats with the massive gear gap in BGs?

Actually, putting everyone in the arena with the same gear (lvl, easily done with a template) would solve all PVP problems.

No more PVP gear. You all get put into any PVP wearing the same top level gear, issue solved. Those who want to PVE for their gear, go PVE. Those of us who want a level playing field in PVP get it every time we enter.

Then it comes down to what real PVP players want. Rating/Titles.

^ This is the definition of obtuse, right here.

These are all things easily accessible to a solo player aside from rated BGs which he wasn’t talking about.

Honestly, if you are having a hard time with the above you really should just go play some single-player games.

GW2 does this in Tpvp and mists rated and i’m fine with it, so long as i get to pick the stats for this template. I dislike being told what stats are best for my spec, as i felt they were not in legion.

Maybe give that game a shot? It’s good, i like the PVP there.

This is more reasonable. As, Magnificent said you really should look at GW2 if that is what you want because that is what they give you. Fixed templates (with different stat combinations with a wide variety of choices) for what they call structured pvp.

sPvP offers both casual and rated systems

I just wanna say I happen to know Juga is an excellent player and smashes players 1 on 1 all the time. I’ve watched it

You must not understand what the definition of SOLO is. Solo means “one person, by yourself”, not queing into a group. If you have a difficult time understanding that, that’s your problem.

Why can’t they do it here? It’s a simple as implementing a PVP template for each class/race. It removes the need for PVP rewards or vendors (which Blizzard hates anyway), allows people to PVE for their gear and lets PVP players not have to PVE.

To me that solves 99% of this game’s problems.

Lothloria - add me asset#1172. I’ll help you cap.

I understand what your saying since I mostly play solo 90% of the time. All my friends have quit playing.

GW2 is a great game… but it is missing something wow has…
I’d be fine with scaling gear to the top level in pvp… and instead of gear rewards lets us had in tokens for transmogs.

They are things that you can SOLO-queue for. You do not have to be in a group to queue for these things. You are playing a rather silly semantics game.

You can solo queue into a BG and choose to have zero interaction with the other friendly players in that BG if you want to. You don’t have to fight near them. You don’t have to heal them. You don’t have to communicate with them. You can avoid them and go off and do your own thing, just like you can when solo farming mobs in a PvE zone.

You can’t do that with a preform group because you will find yourself being quickly uninvited, but you can continue to do that over and over and over and over when solo queuing for random BGs.

Well i suppose my problem with that is being told what is “best” for my class/race. If we could have choice to pick secondaries (ala GW2) then i’ll take it. My problem with templates (as they have previously been implemented) is that they were, in my opinion, incorrect for a lot of the specs.

The idea was good as standardization is good for the most part but I wonder where the decision making tree came from on that one. Maybe the people who recently left Blizzard?

Oddly, this sounds a lot like the matches where I queue with YOU!

I was speaking from personal experience, ofc.

Sure if you want to do 2s tomorrow, I’ll have some free time then @Danathor.

My idea is your spec stays the same. It’s just your gear goes to whatever the CAP level is for those items.

No need to change your class or re-spec anything. Its only the items you have that are boosted to the top ilvl. Everyone walks into the arena wearing the same item level.

This removes the “tuning” necessary for templates.
It removes the need to do PVE to PVP.
It removes the bonus to PVErs who PVP (and thus the punishment for those who just flat out hate pvp_.
It forces to play to use SKILL, not “grinding”.
It completely LEVELS the playing field.
It removes the need for PVP vendors and conquest points.
It has ZERO affect on PVE (which the template would not apply).
Arena, Rated BGs and normal BGs would all have the template (normal BGs would have rated BG limitations applied).
You would fight in the arena for rating/title/mounts or gear/weapon appearance. NOT GEAR.

As far as I can see, its a win/win across the board. Players with NEW toons can PVP but once they leave the arena, they’re in their greens or blues. Let’s anyone PVP on different 120s to find what they love.

cuz kaleiki likes it that way for some bizarre reason

comes off very douchey

obviously it was broken as hell initially, they’ve tweaked it more than once since that time.

It is still broken with a big delta but peeps that have more of an inside scoop on the scaling can abuse it with lower level gear and certain traits

kaleiki is not great at solving this

I liked templates, most people want gear advantages ,no matter how small, sadly. I can understand wanting to grow in power with time investment i just dont feel that is a good concept for a game with pvp.

Then eliminate PVP from the game completely. I mean, if Blizz is going to let people have a “gear advantage” then those without that advantage will, you know, quit the game (as many have due to this exact reason).

Some people refuse to PVE for PVP gear. I’m one of them. And I don’t think its fair to reward people in PVP for their “PVE” achievements.

well i think peeps won’t quit as long as they have a fairly certain and easy method of ‘leveling the playing field’

this used to exist with honor/conquest but no longer exists in the PvE gear dominated Legion/BfA design

I agree with you on a lot of things, but for those of us who love world PVP, this is a nonstarter.
