First it was all those weapon transmogs from mop remix, now its the gear you can’t even get at max level from this prepatch event and they didn’t really say anything about either. Neither of these are really something I’d consider “collectable” and it does raise the question of who on the blizz side is looking at these things to make sure these limited time things are actually able to be colllected.
Its the same blue recolor expeditionary gear from Dragonflight prepatch event for non-max level characters, they just added a few new items in the mix.
Down to less than 2 weeks left on Remix, and I’ve still got so many LFR and world drop appearances that just refuse to RNG themselves into my hands.
Please, for the love of whatever, put weapon ensembles on the bronze vendors before the event ends.

I think Blizzard is just looking for opportunities where they can to add unobtainable appearances where it “makes sense”.
In a perfect world, all these recolors would exist in the core game, but I think the priority is making current content, so that’s where these things wind up.
I think eventually we’ll see most items accessible via some normal drops. I think this is just trying to add them in the interim where they’re already adding items.

I’m confused, I thought they were the purple recolor of the legion pre patch event gear.

It is! Some of the weapons seem to have unique Dalaran-themed designs, but the gear is the same, ugly pre-patch gear we have already had…but now even uglier, in purple. Plus, the currency drops a LOT faster with their fix to the pre-patch, so it’s super easy to obtain the gear if you really like the ugly re-color of gear we already have. That said, WoW has always had ‘fomo’ gear and events! That’s long been part of this MMO - if you want to play GW2 or FFXIV or even SWTOR, they have systems that bring back limited time event rewards… but even WoW is starting to bring back old stuff now and then, or even put it on the Trading Post. But these currency items from pre-patch are NOT hard to obtain. I leveled an alt from 50-70 in a couple hours, and bought all the leather gear, and a couple weapons.
The sets aren’t even that good. The only one I like is the cloth set, and that’s only because it fits the theme of the next expansion.

I don’t get why people are so mad about having every single transmog in the game. Guys it’s ugly, you will never use it. When did this game become more Barbie dress up than Warcraft. It’s just embarrassing. BUT GUIS I CANT GET MY GREEN DRESS MOG.

Showing off your sweet, sweet loot has been part of WoW since the beginning. The only difference is that we place more value on personal expression through that loot than on the rarity of the loot itself now.

Having something be collectable is different than it being guaranteed, like the cloaks are legit nice to have but you can’t really get them to drop with any sort of regularity.
the cloaks from shadowlands prepatch are in the sub-70 drop pool off bosses and I completed 90k memories worth of events and did not get a cloak

facts, also you’re creating memories from getting those things and we want those to be good memories not a 4 hour per day grind for 60 days like that one guy that got all mists of pandaria remix exclusive weapons. Does grinding for 240 hours sound good to you?
I dunno the game has felt fairly built on not getting everything. Can’t name a time there wasn’t at least a recolor of a mog very very few people used that was limited.
The currency for prepatch is really easy to get and the prepatch can help you level up. Next timewalking dungeon event starts tomorrow as well, expediting leveling process.
Things have never felt easier to collect than recently imo.
Look, I appreciate that you’re trying to engage in good faith, but this is not a discussion about leveling up. the two examples here, the remix exclusive transmogs and the cloaks which are only available to characters under level 70 can’t be reliably obtained and I would go so far as to say that you likely can’t calculate how long it’d take to get them all as drops using any expression of linear time
if its not reliably obtainable in linear time then it functionally will not exist to anybody that is subject to the limitations of linear time.

Limited time anything is a marketing tactic used to trigger a psychological response from a customer. It is commonly known as FOMO or fear of missing out.

If it was in the store I’d believe it was the marketing department, neither thing I’m referencing is in the store.
It’s to sell subs. Enticing players who plan on coming back for the expansion to resub a month or two early. It also keeps anyone who is done raiding, PvP ext from taking a break.
My bad, I didn’t even know there were other items to earn as a lower level character. I just misunderstood.
I read it as the other way around, like items for level 70 only.
3 characters later I finally got the cloak, shield and shoulder on my rested low level warrior alt at about level 30-35. Been farming this event for what feels like forever and I’m really burnt out now. The shoulders are NOT the same as the dread aspirant or jingoist set, but I do have all 3 now finally.
