Go ahead and laugh at me but I was startled by the shark in Dread Waste.
I was fighting the Water Spirit pet battle master and out of the corner of my eye I seen something moving rapidly in the water. It made me jump the same way a scary movie or computer game would have.
I don’t usually scare easy so I don’t know what the hell was wrong with me.

Living in Arizona, we are used to the various creepy crawlers that can enter your house. One night, around 9:00 pm, on a very humid night, I’m sitting at my desk, getting ready for a dungeon run with my guild.
A scorpion dropped down from the ceiling and landed right on my keyboard. Needless to say, and I am no ashamed AT ALL to admit it, I screamed like a little kid, pushed myself so hard away from the desk I fell out my chair.
I ran to get the vacuum cleaner to annihilate him…….and the scorpion was nowhere to be seen.
I apologized to the guild, logged off, and went upstairs.

Sometime in 2007 I entered the Dark Portal, a lowly level 58 blood elf paladin. I look on amazed and aghast at the red hellish landscape and the demons making war at the gate. Quickly I am ushered onto a wyvern to report to Thrallmar, where I make my acquaintance with the outpost commander. I pick up some quests and set off.
While engaged in combat against a number of fel orcs, my screen suddenly shakes. Loud mechanical screeches and rumbling rent my ears
And then it is over.
The Fel Reaver has taken another victim.

I was in Kuwait in 2016-17 for the US Air Force Reserves. One night I was outside and I see this little shadow skittering around on the ground. I look down, and find a black scorpion. I take a few photos and then go inside.
Later the next day I find out that thing was THE MOST LETHAL SCORPION IN THE WORLD

After a while you get used to them because they are so common out here. And they are pretty harmless. They won’t sting you unless you piss them off, which is why we tell our guests to ALWAYS shake their shoes before putting their feet in.
But it took me a loooong time to sleep on my back with the chance of my mouth being open while I slept……

I stepped on one with my bare foot! Thank goodness it didn’t sting me. It was surprisingly soft but maybe that was just the carpet. I still don’t walk around with the lights off

Falling, anywhere, anytime.
My phobia isn’t heights, it’s falling. So seeing a character fall in a game makes me feel like I’m falling in real life.
Even if I know I won’t die from a drop, I’ll still mount up and fly down more often than not.
It’s why I really like my Demon Hunter and am looking forward to the Envoguer class.

My first Rag kill in vanilla June 2005 with my guild I got punted by the knockback and was swimming in the lava. The camera view was beneath the lava and I desperately kept tapping my spacebar jumping while chugging a health pot to make it back on ground floor after a couple attempts. I felt fortunate cause we needed all the dps left alive to finish him off.
Falling asleep in my keyboard just to wake up to a first person view of a spider npc

Scariest? At night alone fishing in the game then suddenly a person show up ,or Deathwing comes in and there’s no where to go but die.
scariest thing was probably when me and 2 buddies glitched under karazhan, had a fourth guy start spamming stormwind trade chat to create multiple raid groups and we summoned around 180 people into the “upside down sinners room”…idk how many people have seen that but…pretty wild that it even existed, to never be found (unless by pro multi-seater-mount-glitchers like me and my buddies 10 years ago)
