Whats the point of being dps?

I have come back for mop and got geared and did the raid. Whats the point having dps? If tank and healers doing the same dps as an good dps. I am not talking about the specs that are built better and shine. Just seeing decent players getting beat by tanks and healers is kinda ridiculous. I feel you can do a 25 normal or heroic raid with just tanks and healers. I am talking about people doing 70k plus single target getting beaten. I am sorry that just make me do not want to play.

I know tank needs Veng to do it but why healers can?

Because you don’t yet have the gear that spikes up your damage while tanks are riding on massively inflated Vengeance

If you’re getting beaten by a healer though, then that’s a skill issue

If healers are doing the same DPS as you, you’re not a good DPS. You answered your own question as why you can’t stack tanks.
I have not seen a healer do anywhere close to 70k single target DPS in raid.

Highest I’ve seen a healer do was close to 50k, but they had heroic raid gear. Although it’s not that big of a deal, I think healers damage might be a wee bit high, but it is what it is.

My dps characters currently sim at nearly 120k so you might simply be getting outgeared or playing badly. Looking at warcraftlogs stats mistweaver and disc can do a lot of damage but still far behind dps for the same percentile.

As for tanks personally Im a big fan of vengeance because it makes min/maxing and playing a tank much more fun while also fixing tank damage/aggro scaling during the expansion which we’ve seen retail struggle a lot. It also makes it so there’s an heavy diminishing return to play multiple tanks as it still makes solo tanking a better option for group damage.

Any encouragement for players to play tanks is good.

My unholy dk, arcane mage and survival hunter all sim over that and aren’t using the new enchants. But to be fair dk and hunter don’t use those so checkmate capitalism.

ive sold 3 of them yesterday

the profit margins on them aren’t really great but i guess 1k isn’t bad

selling the crystals themselves is far better atm, make like 1500 off it

inscription is tanking pretty hard unfortunately, cards have like halved

im a bit surprised crystals jumped up that much with the raid being out, figured there’d be way more on the market post raid release but i guess everything is an upgrade week 1

ive made almost as money off enchanting as i have inscription and i bet ill eclipse it soon, still kinda mad i cant d/e the rep stuff though

All tanks wont do high damage. Their dam comes from vengeance and if they arent hit by anything they do zero dam. Gear wont change that. Back then two tanks lf the raid were top dps too.

On the other hand getting send by healer is sus.
