Out of curiousity, what are some classes you can do well in arena with that are relatively simple to play? Healer or DPS
Ret is probably the most simple. Arena in general is pretty complex but after ret maybe feral druid?
Each class is gonna have different layers that separate the best players from the worst with their respective toolkits so kinda depends what you mean by simple
Feral’s role in arenas is relatively complicated, and I think it is often put in some of the higher placements on arena skill cap lists…

If you want simple do not try healer. Healer in arena is much more complex than just healing. Arena isnt going to be something where you can just pick an “easy” class and be good with it. Arena is the top tier of PvP that tests if you know not only your class but others as well. My recommendation would be to find the class you like and play that, use the tier lists as a guide and not as fact for every player. Find the class that you like and that isnt terrible and learn to play that well. Arena will never be fun for you if you try and chase the FOTM.

Ret is anything but the most simple. Ret has a lot of responsibility in arena. Aside from generally being the kill target, you also have to be good at playing under pressure while keeping your teammates alive. Deff not the most simple.
I have a ret alt and I also play hunter/priest and druid. I can’t really think of any thing more simple than ret. I’m not saying it’s devoid of any complexity whatsoever, I’m just saying compared to other classes it’s probably the simplest.
I would say frost dk is way more simplistic than ret. I have both.

Fair that’s true I guess I don’t really consider it a real spec for arena so I don’t think about it
Why? Yesterday 1/2 the DK’s in the top 100 for 3’s were frost. It’s a completely viable spec. It’s not as good as unholy obvoiusly, but for a low hanging bar for entry level pvp I think it’s not too bad.
I still swap from unholy to frost from time to time when I just want to no brain zug.
Unfortunately you can’t use the ladder as the end all be all for specs and assume what they’re for. Generally I see a majority unholy but frost is considered better for RBGs so people could be be frost for that as well.
Frost is kind of a meme spec for triple DPS/RBGs I can’t really think of any serious comps where frost is the move. They’re very squishy.
But you are right, it’s pretty simple and probably works just fine at low ratings for new players.
I never said it was bro, im fully aware. If im able to play a simple class i can focus on learning everything else a little bit more, and im just curious
Feral slots into a bunch of comps that can do really well the same for Subtlety. Find someone that knows the spec and get a little coaching and the rest is from experience
Forget everything you’ve seen on here for the most part man.
If you’re looking for SIMPLE, super easy to play class/specs. There are 2 to pick from that are WAY easier than any others.
1 - Frost DK: The very bootom floor of this class is spamming 2 buttons the majority of the time. Obliterate and Frost Strike. You will also have a pretty spammable Howling Blast as well if you’re targets are too far away from you.
Obviously this class is a bit more involved than that once you start to worry about keeping your frost fever and blood plague on targets at all times… but not much.
On a 1 to 10 scale as far as how easy it is to play in pvp both arena and BGs at entry level play… 9 out of 10.
2 - Ret Pally - Rets are slightly more involved than a frost dk to get them to feel… good. That said… not by much. Their priority system for their “rotation” is VERY simple, you can even make a 1 button macro if you’re not worried about perfecting your damage… (I don’t suggest this personally, but others do it).
I would say on a 1-10 ranking for ease of use… Ret’s around a 7.5 or 8 for the floor. And again, just like frost dk… you CAN add more neuance to your playstyle over time and be quite a bit more effective in combat.
He didnt ask what is the simple class. He was asking what is the most simple class to play. They all have a high skill cap. Arena in general is difficult. But ret for sure is the easiest to get into and has highest skill floor.

There is a lot more to a warriors rotation than a frost DK or ret pally though.
Way way more buttons to press (on the basement skill level).
frost dk aint a thing imo
ret at least has some creativity for utility usage
rotationwise is pretty simple yes, but warriors are dumbed down rn

Warriors have to mind their stance and shield equip status for some abilities, so that alone kinda makes them not the most simple, I’d say. But i guess a warrior could still rank somewhat high by just tunnel visioning on someone every game and being in a good comp… which is kinda the topic.
