What I suspect will happen eventually is “Blood Elves” become the “High Elf” neutral race similar to Pandaren in the sense that they appear on both factions’ sides of the new character selection UI. Since all of the Blood Elf racials are arcane-based abilities, the Alliance high elves will share them just like the Pandaren do.
Just my thoughts! I’ve seen posts about why some think Blizzard would never give in and make them a playable race on the Alliance side. If you’ve ever visited Alliance Moon Guard and Wyrmrest Accord servers with a Total Role Play addon, you’ll know that this is hundreds of thousands of dollars in race changes that Blizzard is sitting on. I understand there are some lore implications, but it’s a bit short-sighted to think today’s Blizzard is going to pass up an opportunity to get some coin for the sake of a lore think piece.

To mee it’s very unlikely. It would be that easy to move a race from a side to the neutral tab.
Blood Elves will never become a neutral race. Even if they left The Horde, they wouldn’t be crawling back to The Alliance.
Nightborne and Blood Elves combined probably have enough resources to straight up leave The Horde and be fine together.

I wouldn’t hate it! The Void Elf racials seem a little specific to void magic, but they aren’t too shabby. Yes to transmog discounts!

If that happens I hope we get fogsail humans and stuff like gnomes with lepergnomes being horde only stuff and maybe a clan of dwarves. Maybe dranei : )

The technology is already there with Pandaren. Blood Elves will still be established within the Horde, just under the blanket name of High Elves since they are High Elves. It doesn’t seem that unlikely to me?
