Well sorry for dealing with people who offer a less enjoyable exchange. But I wouldn’t go fight someone from my classic server.
It doesn’t matter. The General Discussion forum is for discussions about World of Warcraft, not Final Fantasy. These spammers can post in the Off-Topic forums designated for other video games. But even then, posts like this one aren’t even constructive. OP appears to have just copied and pasted a website advertisement. It’s useless, and it’s trolling.
You’re right, it doesn’t. I was just providing the reason why things have been renewed. Because people have gone on some psychotic bent with this reinforcing their beliefs in things related to FFXIV.
well after trying Aion (was ok), Warhammer (actually liked but its gone), Wildstar (199% disappointed) , ESO(actually really like just didn’t want to spend money on), SWTOR( still log on and play now and then), Rift (not for me), and LOTRO(good but no one to play with)
i decided no more MMO’s when i stop playing wow that will be it.
the simple truth is i just dont care how good FFXIV is, or how good New World will be… WoW will be the last MMO i play. AND I’m still having Fun on WoW thus I’m still here!!!
Tiger race not part of the Free Trial.
I play both games and I can fire off a handful of things WoW players will find offputting in XIV.

2.5s GCD. Some jobs don’t get their OGCD spells till MUCH later, making combat a chore.
-
You lose spells when you sync down to lower level content. Some jobs aren’t meant to be played below a certain level, ruining the experience for most.
-
“The ARR Wall,” though significantly cut from the original, is still a YUGE chore that you need to chip at before you can get into the best expansion of the game (Heavens’ Ward)
-
The animation delays and locks. This takes a few hours to a few days to acclimate to, and most won’t have the drive to do so.
Weebs. Imagine Vulpera and Belf players but with 250% more sexual frustration, and that’s what I imagine FFXIV’s playerbase is like.
Oh, and also, FFXIV doesn’t have the glorious orc warchief: Garrosh Hellscream.
Sadly, neither does WoW.
It does more for me than wow. That’s all that matters to me.
Out of curiosity I tried it, and what put me right off is the uniformity in the races you can play.
Human.
Tall human.
Skinny human.
Thick human.
Spiky human.
Cartoon human.
Catty human.
Scaly human.
I probably missed a few but to me, visually there is very little difference between the ffxiv races and it just unappealing for me.
I will definitely try it, but looking at some of the gameplay, I just cannot get past the graphics. It just doesn’t look nearly as appealing as WoW.
WoW’s graphics is what drew me in and still keeps me tethered to it. I also enjoyed ESO and even LOTRO’s look. But FFXIV just looks odd to me. I might be wrong, I’ll try it after 9.1 wears me out.
Let’s see…
1.) I’m happy with WOW. Hence why I’m here.
2.) Can’t stand the art style.
3.) Never been a fan of the FF franchise. To me it’s a franchise for players who like to role play pretty boys. Not my cup of tea.
4.) Can’t stand what I’ve heard about it eg: must suffer through a horrible grind before “getting to the good stuff” No thanks.
5.) Can’t stand the pimping of it here as of late. This is the WOW forums, I could care less about your FF14 fetish. If you enjoy FF14, then play it. Knock yourself out. I’m not interested either way.
That’s all that should. And I’m very happy that you’re happy.
Nothing is stopping me anymore. Not after the whole regrinding legendaries fiasco. This whole expansion is a depressing chore. Time for a new game, sunk cost fallacy be damned.
I have 0 interest in the lore, gameplay, graphics… anything.
I remember watching my friend play one of the older FF games. He was into the series, and I was almost flabbergasted watching him play it. Every two steps there was a 5 minute cinematic. Who could suffer through that? That franchise lost me like 20 years ago.
I don’t like the anime looking art style of the game. WoWs art style is one of the reasons it has aged well over the years. I also don’t think I could start over in another MMO, If I quit WoW I will probably quit the genre. I’m glad 14 is doing well though.
Terraria and Fallout 4 are really the reason why I’m not playing anything else.
This is another big point of contention. FFXIV is a Final Fantasy game first before it is an MMORPG, so if a person isn’t already fond of JRPGs (or at least the FF series), they won’t be interested. I myself skip all the story bits (and watch them later on yt) since I prefer to consume story content in continuous-uninterrupted servings rather than dotted with gameplay.
WoW used to be like that. And many people actually enjoyed it. Hence why the playerbase was cut from retail when they added classic. Boy do you look silly.
