Tried it and couldn’t even make it 30 minutes. Didn’t like the feel.
Because crying about WoW is more fun than playing FFXiV.
Yardwork, FF7 remake that I want to 100% & just got the new D&D: Dark Alliances for PS4, so yeah, no time for FF14 or WoW.
I said during their heyday. We trolled Rift, aion, and especially wildstar. We aren’t innocent.
FF is just the current one. It will be a different one in 6 months.

FFXIV is certainly more welcoming than WOW, especially to newer players or people who want to learn. Ill give FFXIV that, i NEVER have issues finding active communities, and they make me feel bad when i leave a guild like they always want to know if anything could change on their end ect, which is something ive never even heard of before, like an /gquit exit survey.
But no its the same heap of garbage people that im a part of and wow is a part of in the end. It doesnt take much for the fake front to break down, and people over there go for account ban on any wrongthink and im fairly sure SE is more than happy to abide. Even stuff like calling out people in game for BS they are doing can get you banned. Like im not talking ripping on the lowest DPS player but doing stupid stuff…like ive heard people getting banned because they yelled at someone recreating the old wow leeroy thing which understandably someone got mad at, its an old meme and not even funny anymore.
That’ll troll itself if the ingame purchases are what’s been reported so far.

If there is one thing im sure of, its that the Amazon devs are not mmorpg players, and none of them know how to make a fun mmorpg. That game is destined for a future cancelled date like crucible and that other amazon game i can remember.
-Too similar to WoW.
-No energy to start an MMO from scratch, learn a new set of mechanics, lingo etc.
-Few friends i have left on WoW.
-Will be really busy in the coming months and don’t want something to distract me in the odd chance i’d get really into it. WoW being “meh” has benefits too as it can’t take over my life like it did it the past.
Played a Lancer to level 17, unlocked rogue then got it to level 12… Then it clicked to me.
The game is bad, theres no abilities… you get a new ability every blue moon where over here in WOW and Classic you get something every 2 levels or single level.
Then the fact that people hype up the trash cringy weeabo story, I realized it didnt feel like a MMORPG… Not MMO at all, I didnt need help from any other players and if I wanted to play a MMO just for Single player Experience ELDER SCROLLS ONLINE DOES IT WAY BETTER FROM 100% Voice Acting and just better single player gameplay.
This is a bit disingenuous though. Classes in WoW sub-20 aren’t exactly exciting either.
Just did 1-60 on a Priest, had like 3 healing spells to work with until the mid/late 30s.
Deleted a Pally at 20 because i remembered why i loath that class. Weaving 3 spells on long cds between autoattacks isn’t fun.
Will preface this post by saying that this is all in my own personal opinion. I heard FFXIV is a good game, but it really doesn’t interest me at all. There are two main reasons for why I am not interested in playing FFXIV.
The first is that it isn’t alt friendly.
In a MMO, I like having multiple characters. I have different characters with different backstories that I usually remake in the various worlds out there. Although I usually have a main in those games, it’s hard for me to focus entirely on just one character for long periods of time. To my understanding, FFXIV really isn’t alt friendly, especially when compared to something like WoW.
The other reason would be the playable race selection.
For a game that wants you to focus on just one character, none of the races interest me at all. They seem very banal without a whole lot of variety, other than human-like races with different parts stapled onto them. Something like Hrothgar is a step in the right direction, but the game really needs more. Especially when compared to games like WoW and Everquest, which have a variety of races. It says a lot when one of the expansion races to FFXIV are bunny girls…not really giving me a lot of confidence in possible future playable races in that game.
The only way I’ll really consider giving the game a try is if Bangaa, a lizardman race, become playable. I don’t know what the chances are, especially since I read that the engine the game runs on is a bit challenging to add new playable races in general to it, but if they do become playable, I’ll give some serious thought. If I’m only going to focus on one character in a game, I’d want a race that I really like and have an interest in. Thus why I usually grump about the game.
As I said, all in my own personal opinion. I hear the game is good and it’s cool to see people really enjoy it, but it’s really not my cup of tea.

I don’t like the item level requirements for the Main Story Line Quests. I just want to experience the content, but I need to spam 45 minute-1hour dungeons to get one piece.

My emotional attachment to wow.
No addon support. I can’t play without a meter.
Races just don’t interest me.

You can play with a meter but you just can’t tell other players how they’re doing.
