Someone hasn’t played WoW recently apparently… for FFXIV if you think FFXIV is on rails and WoW isn’t.
Yep, never played FFXIV.
It does. I don’t know why they went with having to load into each zone.
Yes, the game doesn’t let you go out of the bounds of the zone. Neither does wow or most other games.
Some cutscenes are long, most are short, not sure how having a long cutscene in a story driven game is bad. Especially when the game tells you “This is going to be a long cutscene, make sure you have enough time to watch it before you continue pass this point.”
The longest CD in FFXIV is 15 minutes. WoW historically has has 72 hour CDs and 24 hour CDs.
Pretty sure this is just your opinion, which is fine, but preference doesn’t make it true. But hey, you’re allowed to have your own opinion on which ones are better than which.
Only one game’s fanbase is obnoxiously spamming another game’s social media. They come here, spam, pick fights when people say they do not like the game, and are disingenous in trying to sell it.
“Perfect” game! …after the first 140+ hours.
“Houses!” …if you get extremely lucky in camping a placard for literally up to an entire day and night, against other players and bots.
Ad nauseum.
You come to my post that had absolutely nothing to do with TBC, and everything to do about the obnoxious, offtopic FFXIV spam wave and decide you’re going to take the opportunity to say WoW hates you. I didn’t even mention WoW. The first stone was yours. And yeah, had that same bitter ex vibe about it.
I mean even then, both games have 3 - 5 minute CDs on various things in combat, so acting like one has long cooldowns and the other doesn’t is… well amusing at best.
Yo in all of my years on WoW, I’ve never seen the Blizzard diehards get as triggered over obvious bait, without fail, every single time, as I have with these FFXIV threads.
Like they’re blatantly displaying some serious discomfort from this whole FFXIV thing the last few weeks. I think they’re actually getting shook for once lmao.
Or have a free company that doesn’t decide to disban over night/ kick you even though you informed them you wouldn’t on for a couple weeks for irl issues. Then you lose anything you decorated your room with.
I want people to play what they want. I just know how trapped I felt in WoW for so long, with no where to go. If my gamer life changing experience can happen, I know there are others who could be helped too. There are threads near the very top just today.

Classes ACTUALLY balanced within 1% of each other?
There is a solution.
I mean, if it kinda sounds like evangelizing… it kinda is?
My biggest issue with the housing system isn’t even those things.
It’s not being able to unsub if you own a house. I’m currently taking a break from FFXIV, but because I own a house and I have no desire to play Housing Savage when I do go back, I’ve had to just let my sub roll on and log in occasionally.
Those are just the issues I hit when I played after ARR was released. A few more times than I wish to admit which really sucked because getting room stuff was a pain just starting out.
Yeah, when I 1st got my house I spent upwards of 3 mill just decorating it, since then I’m sure I’ve gotten well up over 5-7 mill in decorations. Currently sitting on over 50 mill right now, but still, I feel your pain. I’d hate to have to play housing savage again or lose all of what I have in my house/yard.
Talk is cheap. Take that evangelizing to the FFXIV forums, or at the very least the correct subforum. Because all I see here are a bunch of kids trying to taunt “nya-nya cooties!”, or a bunch of rabids frothing because they can’t imagine people are playing what they want, and it’s not FFXIV.
FFXIV can sell itself. It doesn’t need a little circle of obsessed exes and pushy fanatics.
To answer a totally legit question, even if it’s meant as a troll:
I still really like WoW. Flaws and all, I like the sense of humor the game has, I like the gameplay, and I like the classes.
I looked over the classes for ESO and FFXIV both, and didn’t find anything that really resonated with me, at least by their description. Maybe I’d fall in love with one once I started playing, but, well, I’m just used to WoW by now.
