so serious question: have they all quit or rerolled?
I played alliance from vanilla to last year. pvp used to be competitive and horde would be tough to beat. in past 2 years they have gone completely wet noodle. So to try and get that competition back I rolled 2 horde chars.
wow has horde pvp gone downhill. people acting like they are allergic to attacking a healer or using CC. people giving up in 30 secs or holding on for no reason when there is no chance to win. its like knuckleheaded central.
what happened to you horde? you guys used to be respectable now you are laughable.
a lot of it starts with racials. every few years blizz likes to pull a racial switcheroo to make an entire other faction the “BiS”; that’s to make money off of faction changes obviously.
so, you get the serious/aotc players moving to the other faction. it doesn’t matter how skilled any of the players actually are, just that it’s causing a huge imbalance in faction representation.
that combined with the absolute terrible state of pvp right now just leaves a lot of players uninterested in pvp.
horde rarely gets a chance to use the mercenary feature because of the imbalance.
it’s definitely not just racials, but that will create a huge disparity between the people willing to pay for better racials, and people unwilling to.
it’s always been the case that where you will find the more serious players (not necessarily BETTER, btw, just more willing to min/max), you will find more success.
you’ll just have a higher ratio of try-hards (not an insult, just what i’d call em) on the side with better racials too. the ratio is the problem.
I totally agree with you OP. It’s noticeable how bad Horde do in random BGs. I have an unpopular theory on this however. Most of the international servers are horde dominant and I often see these players in BGs in full time-walking gear getting 2 shot, AFKing, or just generally being a detriment to the team. Add this to the fact that there is already a communication barrier and it means horde lose a lot.
I’ve lost IOC because our team’s only paladin from Ragnaros server couldn’t understand that we needed crusader aura. And don’t even get me started on Azralon, the single most toxic and low-skilled server in all of Wow.
I just had a Seething Shore where both of my healers were playing with 900 ping from Oceanic servers. Needless to say we lost.
this here is the quiet part out loud. why seriously why not even being bigoted here, are we in BGS with ppl that don’t even speak the same language. who tf thought that was good idea. there should be a language button.
It’s true, it’s a necessary conversation that needs to be addressed because it’s a real problem. The Latam servers have the most toxic players around and then you couple that with a language barrier, and it can become unbearable real fast.
we need a language button. its impossible to truly “team up” when ppl have no idea when you are saying “hey atk this or do that” and they are like como?
if i can’t get crusader aura going up to hangar and i see the alliance side has several paladins, i abandon and don’t bother. i know i won’t be making it to the top, and if i do, most of my team won’t be there to heal. it doesn’t matter what items/abilities i use to get me up there; not having crusader is going to make it painful.
i also think a part of the problem is horde players seem to frequently have major anger issues right away coming into the battleground. i have seen players act defensively and get aggressive just because they’re tired of losing. puts them and all those that end up in games with them at a disadvantage. terrible morale will make people play terribly.
i don’t believe this is a characteristic of any one faction by default, but what happens when players keep trying to win but face premades, or end up with literal bots on your team, and frequently starting short-handed.
Does this even matter? Who is having conversations in random BGs? You barely need communication at all outside of maybe calling incs but even then basically everyone just uses shorthand for the nodes like gm/bs/lm etc…
I just gave the most obvious example of when communication does matter. Despite the entire team asking our only Paladin, both in general chat and whispers, to apply crusader aura so we have a chance of winning, he ultimately does nothing. Either because of toxicity or a language barrier. He was from Ragnaros server so it’s most likely the language barrier. What stance are you trying to defend here? That more clear communication is bad thing?
