do people actually enjoy 40 man raids?

Like seriously? It seems like it’d be a lag fest, mixed in with the inability to make sure everyones participating. the amount of consumables needed per raid would be ridiculous.

Also, do you just join 40 man raids, or do you actually coordinate them? Because everyone I’ve ever talked to about 40 man raids said coordinating them was a nightmare.

I have a hard time believing people are really -that- attached to 40 man raids especially since it didn’t extend past Vanilla at all.

We all know why retail players don’t want 40 man raids. It’s because they’re psychopaths who cannot maintain normal relationships with people except other psychopaths.

They scared everyone off during 2019 classic by being psychos

I started paying WoW specifically for 40man raids and play classic for 40man raids, yes.

Okay, but do you coordinate raids? Are you the one wrangling 39 other people every single week? Or are you just someone that joins 40 man raids and lets someone else deal with the headache?

I was a recruitment officer for years in cataclysm in a 25man guild when 92% of guilds transitioned to 10mans.

you are not qualified to question my participation in guild leadership. 40man vanilla is nothing compared to 20-25man modern wow.

Its the trash after gar. 4 mob packs of garbage mechanics that arent fun at all to deal with, always have some lock that does a max rank banish when it has 2 seconds to fall off.

Make that trash a little more fun, and add a quick way to get to rags room from 2nd to last boss. Maybe put a buff that counts down every time you douse so you can track it better.

Those packs are pretty brutal, especially when melle make no effort to move off the burning floor and end up kissing the ground over and over.

But I personally love dangerous trash, I think it allows players are a lot more interesting dungeon experience when the trash can easily wipe raids. It rewards really good play and punishes bad and sloppy play, which is what I think pve should be doing.

you are supposed to use fire resist sets for them. that’s what the intended paly is.

everyone bruteforces it without it though. that’s why it’s not fun.

dangerous trash is BWL tech packs, or the big dragons. Not one shot random mechanics aimed at random people. Its dumb trash thats not hard, its annoying. BWL trash is far preferred, took team skill and communication to handle.

That’s nice. It wasn’t successful because shockingly that e-sport crap isn’t popular with the masses.

By the way, they said there will still be 40 man raiding in SoD. If they’re determined to leave at least one raid as 40, then the logical choice is Naxx. There’s already smaller size versions in Wrath. Almost no one experienced it in Vanilla and not that many in Classic.

Also, you can always go experience those original raids in their original form in Classic Era. SoD is supposed to offer something different.

Those things don’t 1 shot people, and I think the AOE stun they throw out is a cone like corehound fire breath, so if they are face the proper direction is doesn’t hit the whole raid.

But like robokappa said, put on your best few FR items and you will def survive.

BWL goblin pulls are quite fun trash and I think that is something that’d be much more boring in 10man or 20man setting.
