I thought it was nice that in vanilla raids were a bit more than glorified dungeons. But I guess people rather have trash mobs that pose zero dangers and reliable loot.
Guess everyone will be decked out in full bis epics after a few weeks in every phase.
Feels bad they are taking the second most Iconic raid in WoW and turning it into a 20 man. I was really hoping for the Season of Mastery version of the 40 man
ZG and AQ20 are vanilla raids. I guess they don’t count? Loot in those raids were blues and some rare purples, similar to BFD and Gnomer in SoD. It was hinted that the retooling of MC to 20-man will also have completely different gear… it could be that gear will be mostly blue-quality.
SoD players wanna stuff their face with beer and pretzels and just do raid finder-style ez mode raids… can’t let the roster boss of 40 mans mess up their beer and pretzels
It seems Blizz has capitulated to the retail kiddos. It is what it is. Many of the top guilds are openly discussing going to pservers for a better experience. Time will tell how it all plays out.
Imagine thinking there’s anything epic about raids that are designed for you to just stand and hit, because the raid sizes are so big they can’t design anything that expects more than 20 of the “raiders” to not just be warm bodies
The thing about the 40 man raids is that extra trash pulls will often wipe current-geared groups, then 40 people have to run back.
With 40 people it is easy that one of those players will walk a few pixels in either direction and cause this.
The difficulty was never the bosses, it was getting 40 good people to clear trash without wiping and do the simple mechanics on the bosses.
It isn’t hard, but it turns out a huge portion of this community struggles with it - especially when it increases in difficulty just a bit in AQ40 / naxx.
They def do feel quite a bit more epic than 10 man UBRS or 20 mans.
