What Would You Consider the Last ‘Good’ Expansion?

i was looking at it from a perspective of “let’s give us the best chance of succeeding” and “let’s minimize how much is going on” thus i removed elements.

Sure it was, was LFD a problem in Wrath? Why was it a problem in Cata? Maybe because the dungeon design changed.

Do you think random trade chat pugs would have had any more luck? Could a random 5 man have done a 45 min baron run in vanilla? Maybe throwing random groups at content designed for premades was a terrible idea?

Yea, it changed, but it wasn’t a change that couldn’t be overcame even with a bad comp.

yeah lfd was kinda hit or miss, and alot of miss at beginning of cata.

i already showed you how to handle the dungeon with the group you had.
the problem came down to a player issue not a problem with the dungeon.
that means the dungeon is not the problem. the problem is the players.

stuff changes in wow all the time. you have to adapt to it.

apples and oranges - you’re comparing a special circumstance (baron 45 minute run) to a random dungeon run.
could a random group achieve a 45 minute baron? probably no. but could a random group clear strat? yes.
am i going to go into LFD looking for say - doing achievement runs of cataclysm dungeons? no.

It was a change that made group comp vastly more important. And in a random group setting… yeah you zoned in looked at your group comp and if it wasn’t right you just bailed.

and i showed him how to overcome it and he’s still complaining and blaming dungeons instead of blaming the idiot he grouped with.

no it didn’t. you gave me a group comp, an enemy comp in a dungeon, and a pull and i showed you how to overcome it.

are some comps easier then others? yeah. that’s always going to happen.
doesn’t mean that it’s not doable.

/shrug at the end of the day the difficulty of 5 mans in LFD was drastically changed and also included randomly getting the right group comp.

I love how you think that a random LFD group will play perfectly when that wasn’t even something that happened in vanilla or BC when we could pick out pugs…

My personal favorite from BC, sorry I keep breaking my trap, I’m so high.

Guys, lol, you are nearing 200 posts of derailing

did it change? yes.
did it require a certain comp? no.
were some comps easier then others? yes.
does this mean the dungeon wasn’t doable with a less then ideal comp? no.

i love how you keep blaming the dungeon and not the players who fail to utilize their abilities.
the dungeon isn’t at fault if you aren’t communicating in an mmo.
the dungeon isn’t at fault if you’re not interrupting casts and die because of it.

so boot him and get someone who isn’t high. the best part is you have no one to blame but yourself seeing as in bc there was no LFD.

cata was bad and that means the last good expac would not be cata. haha

that’s because ziryus likes to blame anything but what the real issue is.

yeah definitely didn’t like cata at all. for other reasons then the dungeons.
the dungeons were fine.

i nearly cried when i saw my pally talent trees.

i understood trying to reduce the number of talents, as it was getting out of hand. what i didn’t like was the requiring of going to the final talent to go into other trees.

some things were nice, like aoe heals for holy pally. that was nice. did i mention nice?

Why are so many people saying MoP was a good expansion? I don’t get it. For one thing, they turned dungeons into a laughingstock the entire expansion.

Also, the Chinese-centric theme didn’t fit the WoW Universe at all, I didn’t even feel like I was playing WoW sometimes.

Yes that was precisely the point in BC there was no LFD, you could form your own groups. You could get whatever CC you wanted and there were consequences for failing at that CC.

LFD threw that out the window. Per the example you could get a group that would just be unable to complete pulls in Cata, replacing them was unrealistic as they might be replaced by the same class.

At the end of the day we know Cata LFD failed horribly. It’s like saying vanilla class balance was perfect, in practice they both failed.

The last ‘good’ xpac was prob Legion. I have only disliked a few xpacs (Warlords and BFA). My fav xpac was TBC. I was at a different spot in my life then though and likely if I was to try playing it now for the first time family life/work would get in the way.
