What would make you quit WoW

Besides the unnecessary systems, the butchering of the lore. What would made me ultimate quit would be the politicization and censuring of the game.

The current PvP gearing situation not changing. The forums and community council have been vocal regarding the huge ilvl differences between rated and unrated gear. If they decide to continue on with this design in the next PvP season then I am done.

2 words, Shadow Lands.

Running out of gold to pay for tokens. The very idea of paying real money for this game in its current state makes me cringe.

That they take the token away, cause there is no way I would spend real money on this game.

Exactly this!! I’ll be bouncing back to FFXIV as soon as I level my last 5 alts. No flying in Korthia was bad enough, not really willing to do it again. I quit in January and didn’t come back until 9.1 dropped. Now I’ll probably quit until 9.2 drops and see how painful the new “not-pathfinder” is. More money for Square!! :speak_no_evil::hear_no_evil::see_no_evil:

Slowly start fasting, it will increase your insulin sensitivity. People have actually cured their diabetes this way. Fasting will also cure a lot of other problems in the body. Look up Dr. Berg on youtube for more info. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhmtoAYVRSo

Finishing everything I enjoy and not finding something interesting enough to continue playing.

Pretty sure this is going to be the last expansion I buy. If Shadowlands is an example of what we can expect from now on I won’t be missing anything.

if they revamped the art style to be extremely weeb. spiky haircuts, everyone flashing the peace sign and making little korean exclamations. one race resembles small children and the crustiest sounding dudes on discord always play it. final fantasy type ish and i’m out

When my sub runs out in January.

If they brought back master loot as the primary loot distribution tool I would be done.

If they made wow PvP only I would also be done.

Honestly I only resubbed because I wanted to support employees because of what is going on at Blizzard… But that is even wearing thin… Nothing really interests me… The last guild I was in imploded (yet another one)… So I’m just solo playing and leveling alts.

But the constant grind for EVERYTHING, all of the bugs (and they’re just multiplying), devs seemingly just phoning it in… make me pretty much done… Just waiting for the sub to run out, and trying to find something else to play.

Yea for me I felt like bfa wasn’t amazing but I gave it a pass because I was dealing with important stuff irl so couldn’t play as much. This is why I am trying to catch up with sl and have more to say about it.

With sl it’s 50/50 for me so far its mostly just the amount of systems I have to deal with.

I quit during 9.0 because of the comically terrible state of valor. We had this issue where on 9.0 PTR we had tens of thousands of posts complaining on the PTR forum that the 9.0 equipment system was really irritating and restrictive. They ignored all feedback and went live as it was on PTR, and the original 9.0 systems were terrible and near universally unpopular. It was a really needless problem, because there was at least several dozen highly hearted suggestions on the PTR forums on how to make the systems accomplish their precious engagement metrics and also be fun to engage with.

They begrudgingly gave us valor after months of waiting, but it was balanced to be mathematically impossible to engage with. 9.0.5 valor would have taken upwards of 3 years of weeklies to level up a set. I am willing to accept some level of time gating, but being that strict and obtuse just felt unprofessional or spiteful. After the level of player loss we experienced in 9.0, they really should have looked at valor as extending some good will towards unhappy players, but they used it more like a “we’re right and you’re wrong, deal with it” type of jab.

That is why I quit from March all the way to November. I came back to see if 9.1.5 was even remotely playable. I think there are still major annoyances and major bottlenecks to the gameplay that are not necessary, but it is at least acceptable now.

I think im quitting at the moment. 3 months is a long time to change ones mind, yknow? Im just deeply saddened by the state of the gate. Getting bored of grinds. Most of all, sick of all the gosh darn timegates.

I am not a customer for Ion’s vision. Oh well.

Shadowlands grind fest made me stop playing but I kept both accounts active, but after this over tuned mage tower debacle and blizzard being totally deaf to the community, i think the time has come to just stop wasting my money, dont want 9.2 as its prob just more shadowlands grindfest … adios folks

Probably if they added purchasable gear to the store that cannot be obtained in-game by reasonable means or means commensurate to the power gained by the gear. I.E. Selling mythic raid gear but then making the mythic raid itself only accessible like… once a year or something nonsensical like that.

It would, frankly, take quite a bit…
Even if WoW says “We are done with the game forever”, I will still prob play for another year.

Permaquit?

My wife recently had a bit of a kerfuffle where we misplaced her fob authenticator and couldn’t get back into the account. Thankfully, CS was prompt and got her back in. I was confident that would be the outcome, but she catastrophized for a bit and wondered out loud what if she lost her account. She declared that if she lost her account she’d probably be done. I would probably slow my roll and eventually quit if she was done for good, dunno.

Also, if I lost my account and had to start over fresh I’d quit for good too.

When I quit WoW the first time it was because I was playing the game for every day for 5 years straight and just got burnt out. IRL had different priorities going on as well.

I came back a decade later and life priorities are all sorted (bought a house, started a business, work out weekly, etc) and don’t feel like quitting. What would make me quit? Probably burn out again.

Never know when that happens.
