If you are excited for the stuff announced for War Within I’m glad. Honestly, I really am. But there seems to be a lot of people who aren’t excited for anything announced in War Within and, even though it’s too late to change much, if anything, why don’t those of us who are seeing War Within as pretty meh make some suggestions on what we would have been exited for.
Why? Because Midnight is still in the works and maybe things we suggest here might give them some ideas on how to make Midnight more exciting to more people than War Within seems to be so far.
For me, something that would have gotten me excited is a new race, and I mean a really new new race, not reskinned dwarves (also a new race that could be lots of classes btw). I wouldn’t say no to Earthen, any new race option is good, but, I mean, meh? Has to be even worse for Alliance to now have three dwarf races while Horde gets a new race. I don’t know what new race I’d be excited for, but pretty much anything that’s actually entirely new would have been exciting.
A new class would also have been exciting to me if lots of races had access to it. I don’t really have a specific new class in mind. I know I’d have loved Tinker, or even some sort of D2 style necromancer (yeah, I know there’s DK, that’s not what I mean). Maybe even Dark Ranger if they could figure out how to make it different enough. Maybe some sort of mix of Diablo Demon Hunter and Assassin mix. Anyway, a new class available to a lot of races would be exciting.
I guess the reason why it feels like it would be good to get a real new race or a new class so soon after DF is that DF’s new class could only be one race, and DF’s new race could only be one class. Don’t like the race or don’t like the class? That whole part of the expansion might as well not exist. Like for me I realized I just didn’t like dracthyr enough to play one (lack of mogging, lack of a body type that reads as female, like how most of their options look male, etc. etc.) so that means I didn’t play the new class either. And I’m sure there’s people out there who liked dracthyr but didn’t like Evoker so they were out of luck too.
Another option I’d have gotten excited for, new specs. I’m sure a new class would be way easier to come up with than new specs for all the existing classes. They’d have to be crazy to do that, but I can’t deny I’d be excited for it. Even if were just an ongoing process where they wanted to get all the classes up to four specs and it was only a couple per expansion that’d still be exciting. At least get DH up to three.
A world revamp would be exciting, even if it weren’t the whole world. Like, Org needs an upgrade badly. I’d be pumped for a completed Orgimmar. It’s been a work in progress since Cata.
More races for DH would be exciting, for me at least.
Player housing would be exciting, if it were at least WildStar quality, where you could build anything you could imagine on your plot of land.
Anyway, I gotta go make dinner. If you’re not excited for War Within what would you have been excited for? Let’s be constructive here. And like I said, if you are excited for War Within that’s great! I’m honestly glad you are.
, but it just didn’t do it for me. It lacked a sense of depth, felt all rushed imo. I was disappointed with most of BFA gameplay but I felt like the story beats with Saurfang were perfect. The allied races made sense.
