What were the saddest in-game deaths?

Either a character who has died or had to watch die.

I found the quest to find Pamela Redpath doll one of the hardest quests to finished. Children dying is a hard subject to think about when the point of playing games is to enjoy yourself and not be depressed after.

My own brother killed me in game. That’s really sad.

Senegos, he was the cool grandfather to us.

I thought the death of Varian was actually really well done and made me a little sad. I liked his character but the audio of him screaming as Gul’Dan destroyed his soul was very memorable.

I wouldn’t necessarily call it the “saddest” death, but Ga’nar’s one-man stand against the Iron Horde at the end of the Frostfire Ridge questline was epic. His “LOK’TAR!!!” as the canyon collapsed around him really hits hard for this Horde main.

Probably not the saddest, but I was sad to see Tirion Fordring get killed.

Don’t really have a “saddest”, but Ysera’s death was the closest I’ve gotten to feeling anything for anyone in this game.

Seeing Senegos go was sad. That whole Blue Dragonflight questline was extremely well done.

I also thought Malygos death was sad. Garrosh, Tirion, Varian, etc. Chemei’s questline in Ohn’haran Plains is sad.

It was a gutpunch realising she hadn’t survived.

The ghosts you witness at the end of the Shady Rest Inn quest chain also put a lump in your throat.

Least he got to pass on on his terms. Those are rare deaths.

I was a big ol crybaby during Yseras death and when she’s revived in Ardenweald. ( Was also nice when she got to hug her kid in Dragonflight. )

Runas was just really sad because his voice actor is practically the voice of our childhood. So hearing him thank us for having his life / death mean something just got me right in the squishy crybaby heart.

Ysera. They killed my waifu in a short cinematic during the leveling questline. They did her dirty.

For me…

I started back at launch but took a break, I barely remember the old game…

So after getting familiar with the game I started playing again and discovered the Legion expansion…

With no prior knowledge of the story leading up to it I watched in glee as Sir Speeches of the school of Daddy issues, got smitted and was confused why the characters were sad… ooh well. For all my Death Knight kin… our pain has been avenged. :smiling_face_with_tear:

Then during the quest chains, I met Runas… why does it hurt so much? You just rest buddy. You did good.

Eventually I met with a green dragon who wanted to end the nightmare some crazy guy had started in something called the Emerald Dream… it was just messed up on so many levels. We had to kill this nice dragon who was possessed… :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Also I met a whiny woman who wanted to return to the city… then she gets killed in the most pointless and stupid quest ending yet… big deal that we end the killer, doesn’t bring back someone we failed. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Oh speaking of pointless and stupid, red dragons should not be so quick to jump in front of three burners. That’s just rude, as demonstrated I can easily tank one of them, but no Red had just jump in and take all three so I could save an egg that is never mentioned again… stupid dragons… :sob:
