What were the most popular arena comps in TBC in 2v2, 3v3 and 5v5?
I’ve heard a lot of talk about arena and the importance of comps but I’ve never actually seen a list of the most popular comps for the different sizes.

Rogue, priest, mage for 3v3.
Other comps don’t matter since no one does them.
Resto druid + anything in 2v2 if you really want to earn arena points that slowly.

RMP is going to be the most popular comp. I just think many teams and classes in arena are vastly overrated since they use 2007 data and skillsets for 2021. I would guess more druid teams and a LOT more hunters making it into top 3v3 teams.
For 2v2 there’s gonna be a lot of druids, warriors and…shamans! Yeah shaman/warrior 2v2 is actually really good due to tremor, mana sustain, windfury etc. Locks will be strong but Warriors and a TON of undead everywhere will dilute this more than you think.

Rogue/mage/priest and warrior/lock/Druid are going to be the most effective comps in 3s. I don’t know the 2s or 5s meta, but my guess for 2s is rogue/mage and for 5s I haven’t a clue.

Pretty sure mana drain is gonna become prevalent in 3s.
Either Priest/Hunter/Druid or Priest/Lock/Druid…
RMP is not going to be prevalent unless the massive majority of the population tunnels the bandwagon and doesn’t even stop to think for a single second.
2’s: Druid/Lock, Druid/Rogue, Druid/Warrior, Druid/Hunter, Priest/Rogue, Priest/Mage, Mage/rogue, Shaman/Warrior, Shaman/Ret
3’s: RMP, RLD, WLD, Shatterplay, Shadowplay, Ret/rsham/warrior, MLD, Double healer warrior.
5’s: 2345, RMPLS, Eurocomp.
Probably the most common, there are many many more comps though you can do well in.

rogue+druid in 2s was insane, warrior+priest was good too. i think warlock + shadow priest was pretty fun, but not top since healing sucked.
not sure about 3s and 5s. i know those had different comps.

Wasn’t a big arena player but yeah I remember 2’s was druid + whatever and 3’s being a lot of RMP. No one I knew really cared much about playing 5’s
Do Classes like Hunter fare better in 5v5 as opposed to 3v3 or 2v2?
Nah. Res, kills warrior/shaman comp pretty easily. They’ll be doing like no damage unless the shaman is also helping with spells. Then the shaman is OOM and game over. Shaman don’t have great escapability either. Druids are hands down the best healers in 2’s for that reason.

Anything with hard cc that doesn’t share diminishing returns.
But what most people have said and its pretty much been the “go to” is Rogue mage priest.
It’s been the bread and butter comp since arena’s inception.
If you’ve got enough skill and time you can get glad with that comp.

You thinking priest mage rogue is the only comp for 3s because “other comps don’t matter since no one does them” is what’s cringe.
