it can be a pure fit of rage, a funny moment, tears, happiness, relief, etc. idc
for me, it was the ending of A Plague Tale Requiem and Kratos’ last story to Atreus in ragnarok

Aeris’s Death FFVII
When I beat the game The Hobbit.
Probably completing green fire quest on warlock at 490 ilvl. I remember putting a lot of tries in and spending a lot on repairs. When I finally got it, it was a great moment.
Such an unexpected gut punch of a moment
Followed immediately by a boss fight
while her theme music plays (arguably one the saddest, most beautiful pieces of music I have ever heard)
Pretty sure the very first time I did that fight I died because I was so discombobulated by what had just happened.
I was filled with rage when Burning Crusade expansion began and our hard fought Tier 1 gear was now useless and we had to go back to greens and busy work to level again. Then, afterwords, every expansion did the same thing. We were squished and stunted. All that hard fight had been declared meaningless.
ok kratos.
Being 13 and running around my house in joy at getting both Midnight and the Smoldering Emberwyrm in the same night.
As an adult? Getting so angry I tear up because those bastards pulled Thok the Bloodthirsty without me in the boss room, making me have to do the entire raid again just for that extra bit of bronze.
Probably FF7R. Not because it’s the most amazing game ever (it’s not), but because I played the OG when it originally came out, and seeing the world and characters wcome to life was just incredible.
Other than that Nier Automata.
Shoot… I dont really remember tbh. I need to look… Now watching a lets play it was the intro to the Last of us…
Dad losing his daughter right at the start… Crushed my soul bruh.
lol the emotional moment in gaming for everyone would be
forgetting to save before your first boss fight lol
FF7 rebirth the final Jenova fight. Her theme practically eats Aerith’s theme.
The other just like. The majority of Silent Hill 2
( I’m just going by this years standards because I don’t have to type as much )
For Rebirth another heavy hitter was just the scene where Aerith hugs Cloud. Telling him “Whatever happens next…please don’t blame yourself” and you see Sephiroth showing up behind her. That was my “we’re really not going to be able to save you…” tear explosion moment. It just felt like Aerith was talking to us too at that moment. Back when we were young and dealing with her death for the first time.
In SH2 Remake the one line that made me wince ( in a good way ) hearing it was Angela after you beat the Abstract Daddy boss. The way her voice just breaks down when she says “Or you could just force me…like he always did”. I was EXPECTING it and it still hurt in a good way. All my praise to her new voice actor because holy crap. The whole cast in that game is great. Same for FF7 Rebirths voice actors.
If we’re going old school. I remember beating Ultima IV and thinking, this was the pinnacle of gaming.
It was in ICO when npc character had such good AI that she was not a burden or did not actively try to kill me. It was the first time I really felt a connection to the character I was trying to save. I love that game, wish it got as much love as Shadow of the Colossus did.
On a silly note it was the dramatic deaths my sister and I would do in Double Dragon when giving each other an extra life. For anyone that did not play, you could kill your brother for a free life. We would get down right Shakespearean with it. Those tears were real I tell you.
when a turtle made it to the water
i loved it when we was the monster on these quest lol
I can remember when save points were not a thing. Just lives and maybe…just maybe a number of limited continues.
talking about games like skyrim if you have auto saved turned off lol and forgot to save lol
