Mine was “Adventure” on a PD8 mainframe while at University in the mid 70’s. At that time we had no monitor’s just output to paper rolls on a glorified typewriter. Really slow.
From that point on, I was addicted to computer fantasy/adventure games.
My first PC game was Ultima I on an Apple 2+ computer. Amazing what they did with such limited processors, ram and storage.
I don’t know about my very first for certain, but Tales of The Sword Coast sticks out as the first one I really got into. That or Thief: The Dark Project.
(Or The Oregon Trail at school, if that counts. Lol)
My very first computer game was some game on a super big floppy disc that you had to launch from dos. It was like this big tree house and i think had mini games or something. Very vague recollection of it
Warcraft orcs and humans, though thats a rts game, so if that doesnt count the orginal diablo. First fantay adventure not blizzard related ultima 9 assension a few years later
(Born in the 90s)
My first adventure computer game was my dad giving me a demo of Commander Keen (demo) on his Windows 98 computer as a lil 5 year old bub. Needless to say I was horrible and knew absolutely nothing about it.
We were kinda pov so it would be a decade till we got internet at home and I’d get addicted to MMOs.
Oh goodness. Hello fellow old person. Heh, I remember playing this when we finished whatever school assignments they had given us. All on that stupid little Mac with the disc drive in the front.
For the thread topic. I played my first RPGs and such on Genesis. It was a bit before I had a computer in my house. My first PC game that I played (other than Oregon Trail and Carmen Sandiego) was prolly Diablo 1, though. My first real PC RPG (since I am not sure I would count Diablo) was Morrowind.
I can’t say that I recall what it was. I remember playing console roleplaying games when I was young though. I was exposed to the first final fantasy and dragon warrior games.
