What to buy first?

Never played MoP back in the day. Just leveled up to 89 last night, almost 90.

I will have 4000 JP and 4000 Honor when I ding tonight. What gear should I buy first, and why?

Don’t hate me, but while questing last night the Sha of Anger popped out and I was able to loot the token for the boots, so I will already have those.

I’m an Arms Warrior, if that matters.

You need rep to buy the jp rewards so you have to look up a pre bis list to see which ones you need to grind out.

Or you can just buy honor gear and convert the jp to honor.

To be honest if you aren’t really pushing to raid this week just wait till the celestial dungeons drop and farm lfr gear.

Gratz on 90!

MoP is very heavily based on reputations. So you should continue working onL

    Upon reaching Honored, a lot of Epic rewards will be available at the vendors to get some start Valor gear.

The general reputation JP/Valor vendor is location in Townlong Steppes zone.

As a fresh 90:

  1. Open Dungeon menu (default i keybind) and select Scenarios - complete one with a quest inside to get a ilvl 450 starter weapon (2h).
  2. On Auction House, you can obtain some 450 PvP gear. You need to be 436 overall item level to be able to queue for Heroic dungeons.
  3. First go to JP vendor and fill in the biggest upgrades you can get (ilvl 458)
  4. Then go to PvP vendor and fill in the rest (ilvl 458)

Protip - Justice Points rings are NOT unique-equipped, meaning you can wear x2 of the same.

If you’re ready to grind hard, you can find a 2’s arena partner and grind out Conquest Points and buy 2 pieces of gear - for warriors IIRC it is legs and belt.

Also make sure to peridocally visit Reforger to get hit and expertise capped.
There is an addon called “Reforgelite”- you can select an Arms preset (either +2 for dungeons or +3 for raids) and hit “Calculate” - after its done calculating, you press “Show” button on the UI and hit “Reforge” so it will automatically reforge all your gear.

Arms warriors are a really fun and powerful spec to play right now.

This is unbelievably helpful. I cannot express enough how much I appreciate this. I’ve been trying to read online about this, but end up hopelessly confused. Your answer here is very succinct.
