Got to remember Blood Elves come out with BC. Blood Elf ret paladins are simmed higher enough damage wise that many Alliance paladins will reroll. And then there’s the fact the Blood Elves were the “pretty” race for Horde for years and that changed many people’s opinion on Horde. Then you add in the fact that most Horde racials were better for PvP and PvE in BC and it’s a perfect storm for largely Horde dominated PvP servers. It’ll be rough for those of us Alliance sticking on PvP servers, but it’s part of the challenge.
Not only this, but if they use the nerfed raids and eliminate the attunement component of the game then there will absolutely be a long list of complaints all saying “there is nothing to do” simply because that part of the game was eliminated. I also truly hope that they use the Late arena Rating required system so that weapons and gear are locked behind rating for conquest items, that way Arena system is not a welfare system in Seasons 1 and 2.
If this takes places and It did take place back in the day, then win trading will crop up late at night because the 5’s bracket will be filled with cheaters. Maybe they should turn off the 5’s bracket entirely to prevent that.
Only concern with arena is early on that gear is good for a feral tank. We’re literally the only spec to use the arena gear (weapons being the exception) in raids. I want one or two pieces for easier gearing early on.
Its not hard to hit 1850 for weapons, so the rest of the gear minus the shoulders is cake. The rating only eliminates AFK’n losses to farm gear. Shoulders require 2K, and for a reasonably skilled player this is also achievable.
The arena is suppose to be competitive, and it will be only because it has a rating system. I just dont want it filled full of what are free wins provided by AFK’rs there to collect welfare gear.
you play on skeram…you have no “other faction” lol
People whining about what might be is already ruining TBC for me, but I’ll press on and keep playing anyway.
Coming from someone who is planning on maining a Dwarf Hunter for TBC and expecting to be on the much less populated faction: Should be a ton of fun. In Classic WoW I just zoomed past everyone leveling and fought almost zero people in the open world. This time around I plan to make many people upset with myself and my big red pet
Man I made SO much gold before Activision added personal rating to the game. Before personal rating, all you had to do to get full team rating points was play 30% of the games in a week. We had like 4 teams at 2-2.1k in 5v5, would charge I think 1200 for one weeks worth of points. They go in and lose 3, we go in and usually win 7. End of the week the boostees get like 900-1100 arena points for losing 3 games lol.
Personal rating will probably be in game at launch so that method isn’t viable.
In this day and age you will just have a few good players piloting 10+ accounts for RL money though 100%.
Really love your positive outlook! Yes! We will prevail! ;D Ima stick with it! My prot warrior bum will make it into pvp! Lol! (Gonna main fury for BC).
That’s what you say right now. Add to that it’s good to at least give Blizzard an idea of players’ expectations.
Calling suggestions whining shows you just dismiss people without listening. I’ll press on and let ignorant people like you be the ones moaning if it’s bad later. Make sure to keep a mirror handy.
B.C will have a lot of the problems Classic has. Assuming they’ll go with 2.4.3 patching (Which they will most likely as they went with 1.12) so itemiaztion, will be insane Attuments may not be a full thing. (Outside of Hyjal BT though this isn’t a given.) EVERY single warrior rogue ench shammy will be a blacksmith. And JC gems are gonna be inside much more then in real BC. Also LW’s and A MASSIVE ammount of shammy’s due to the Meta.
Classes will be more lopsided, and faction imbalance will be a thing for sure people saying 30/70 are dreaming. Outside of RP-PVP servers i think Ally will probably still be strong on Grob for example. and maybe one mega server for all ally PVPers. But besides that it’s horde dom. Arena’s = no more need for the other faction mostly.
Besides that it depends on as others said, what they’ll do. Faction changing? That’ll probably happen earylier, i know a lot of people would swap there entire guild horde and move server and so on. I wonder if it’ll crash as much as it did back in the day.
Kil’jaden was unplayable back in the day on the first week of BC… Good times… But AOE farming will be bigger due to ret pally’s will be boosting. But there’s less maintenance for the advg raider so most people won’t care AS much as they do in classic, outside of the massive imbalance.
Only your fun. Everyone else will enjoy it.
Some of the krazan loot got buffed, but other items were nerfed, overall the gear did not get a whole heck of a lot of increase in power factor from buffs, that was more a vanilla tactic for catch up.
Some will go blacksmith, but its really not all that required. Getting gear is not hard if you raid or arena. There were a few that rerolled blacksmith in TBC because the weapons were really good, but there were those that also wanted the eng helm or the gem cutters trinkets. All this stuff was basically worked out before, but some people play the less optimal thing because every guild should have its own gem cutter and enchanter.
Yeah drums and lust are massive gains in output, but that was no different in old TBC, everyone knew how good haste was, it was not some sort of hidden practice or anything.
Wrath of the Litch King, September 2nd, 2009 was the launch of that, doubt it will be part of TBC because it was not a TBC feature at any point, not even in wrath prepatch.
TBC actually nerfed AE farming fairly harshly, some say too harshly but hey I preferred that nerf.
What real imbalance? Everyone, well almost everyone has a sure fire spot in raid in TBC, really the only outlier are BM hunters just being crazy good for the whole expansion and Warlocks becoming a little ridiculous in T6. TBC was not balanced on razors edge idiotic everyone does the same DPS output nonsense that permeates the idea of retail that has never actually existed at any point ever, because always some one is top DPS and all the rest are below that.
None of the content is so hard that you cant clear it with a standard raid of whatever you got to stock your raid group with, and specs that were previously considered garbage by vanilla standards like Enhance or Retribution are now valuable contributions to the raid as a whole and brought to raid because they are that valuable to the group even if the DPS output of that single players class build is not exactly as good as the BM hunter or T6+ warlock.
The only class that really has any need to worry are bad rogues, the rest are gonna be just fine because Warriors can play arms in raid, yup you read that right Arms is good because of the debuff it provides. Fury can be good too, but like rogues you will actually need to be good rather than lean on your class selection to carry you.
It’ll probably be arena too, hah! Wave after wave, match after match, of whatever combo is determined to be the meta-est.
Quite a few ways to break the meta in Arena and play more or less what you like below the Gladiator range of play, and that encompass most of the population.
The only truly annoying things you gotta deal with are in 2’s Vs Resto druid Warrior or Resto druid Warlock comps that will be quite common as they are basically as zugzug as you can get.
After the first few months over half of the content will be either empty or completely unused.
People will skip as much content as possible to rush to 70, and then skip as much content as possible to get preraid bis, and then skip as much travel time and skip as much content as possible to get to a raid from a capital city.
You can’t remove retail mentality from retail players no matter what expansion they play on.
regardless… if i were to move to a server that is pvp with alliance, it would matter, but pve servers are essentially skeram…
I am fearful they’ll add faction change just to make more money. I think the characters should have to stay their current faction until Classic Wrath as it was in retail BC and Wrath. Make changing factions mean something and possibly keep some slight resemblance of faction balance as not everyone will want to do 1-60 again and then 60-70.
Heroics are going to be ruined, dps is going to expect rush runs from day one regardless whether the groups is geared enough or not and take it out on the tank when it fails.
