What the waffles is going on at Blizzard?

I just want to share a post I found on another website that resonates with me so much on what a let down this expansion is.
I have inserted ‘waffles’ in place of strong curse words and to replace a certain streamer’s name so people don’t think I’m just schilling for them.

I haven’t ever seen this many people stop playing. This expansion is so waffles boring, even the most dedicated and hardcore WoW players like waffles are sick and tired of it. When your players who have stuck with the game for years start leaving in droves, it should be pretty waffles obvious what went wrong.

And it is. It’s so painfully obvious how many things are wrong with BFA yet blizzard is left completely clueless as to what is wrong. They still released this without knowing how bad it was.

Somebody needs to go to blizzard HQ and slap some waffles sense into the people leading it right now, because they aren’t just on the wrong page here, they are waffles entire novels behind. I don’t get how they release one of the best expansions ever, and then release this. I cannot sing enough praise for legion, and it proves they have it in them still, yet they do something like this afterwards.

I just cannot wrap my head around this. I don’t understand why they would do this when they know fully well how to release a good expansion. Something at blizzard is going on that they aren’t being clear on, because the blizzard we had last year would never have done this.

I know it seems like i’m just hating but i’m not. I waffles love blizzard more than any company out there and I love this game. I just want to know why blizzard is doing this waffles and what is going on, because this should not happen.

It’s short and to the point, but speaks volumes. You can really feel the passion and anguish in these sentiments. I mean, my own feelings resonate with this so much, I feel like I could have written it myself.

I don’t even bother doing anything in the new BFA zones anymore, and I haven’t for weeks now. I spend my play time doing things like farming old reputations and transmogs.

Most recently I’ve just been farming mogs in Blockrock Depths, and I hate that place, but this is still a less boring use of my time than most anything in BFA.

Maybe things will really improve. I mean, I guess there’s still time for Blizz to turn this thing around and salvage it. Jeesh man.

As it stands, this is the least fun expansion I’ve experienced. It just isn’t fun. I quit bothering with frickin’ azerite farming a good while ago. Island expeditions might be kinda fun if you could do them alone, but you can’t. Warfronts are just asinine and boring. I definitely couldn’t care less about WM, and its so-called incentives are just a joke to me. As for dungeons and raids, I care less about them this expansion than I ever have previously. I just don’t bother. I just feel like, what’s the point… I just don’t care about BFA.

Maybe the next patch will make me care more. Maybe Jana will whip up some of her crazy ship raising magic and raise this sunken ship known as BFA.

I have never, since I started playing almost 10 years ago, seen this level of quitting this early in an expansion. Some will say “this is every expansion”, but anecdotally (since that’s alls we have) I’d say it’s simply not true.

Part of what killed it for me was the blatant negligence for class specs. Two raid tiers in and we’re JUST NOW getting fixes. Those should’ve dropped like week one maybe two. Raids, PvP, Island Expos and Warfronts don’t mean jack squat if the specs play like hot garbage.

I’ve played wow since Vanilla, and have sub ever since with only a few breaks along the way. But I could only stomach 4 weeks of BFA’s waffels before I had to un-sub. It all really comes back to one thing, wow is no longer an MMORPG.

I’m not sure exactly what to call it. It’s a single player game that takes place in the presence of other NPC-players. Some have tried action-arcarde game. I say NPC-players because people are shard’ed in and out like phantoms to blow up a “rare” WQ mob. Same with Mythic plus, sometimes you are presented with good NPC-players and sometimes you are not. If not just re-que and maybe you’ll get better ones next time.

We are all clones of each other and everything we do is meaningless. We are rats on a wheel who cannot get too far ahead or fall too far behind the other NPC-player clones. It’s perfect communism where there is the equal sharing of misery.

My best memories of Vanilla - WotLK (until they added lfg) was forming groups up like getting 3 dps and a healer for Maraudon and eventually finding those 3 dps and healer you can rely on to do their job. Then you add them to your friends list and run more stuff with them later on.

Now, it’s just queue in, zerg it down, don’t even need a tank, rush to the end and then dip out before anyone can say GG.

Buffing classes too soon is how you end up with legion afflock. You can’t buff classes one week into the expansion because nobody has any gear and optimal builds haven’t been hammered out yet.

Yeah… it kinda sorta does have that feel to it.

Except the classes that needed fixing weren’t even worked on like all the others when prepatch hit. Shadow priests, ele shammys and others weren’t worked on and they launched it. They had all of prepatch and let’s say the 1-2 weeks that I said. That seems like a reasonable amount of time to give them the fix that other specs got no?

Again it’s an issue of gear scaling with certain classes. Believe it or not shadow priest performs decently well at high ilvl and correct azerite traits. The problem with overhauling a class early in the expansion is you don’t know what issues are caused by lack of stats and what issues are caused by core class mechanics.

Most people I know haven’t even quit. Most people are just taking a break until 8.1.

Shockingly, it’s completely normal for people to take breaks when there’s a couple weeks until the next patch.

Especially when the current raid tier is pretty boring.

Okay let’s just say for the sake of the argument I agree with you. How long do they need to make an informed decision on spec fixes? 1 month? 2? We’re going on 4+months now. A raid tier has come and gone and they’ve had plenty of graphs to pull from on Uldir to make a decision.

We still have several months before the next raid tier comes out and most of the classes you talked about are being reworked in 8.1 which will come out in a few weeks.

Which ties into what I said originally. We’re getting fixes for classes that needed them much too late. When it takes them that long to fix the core aspect of the game (our specs) how can people be expected to keep a positive outlook on the future of the game?

It wouldn’t make much sense to drastically alter classes before people have appropriate amounts of gear. Likewise it would be a bad idea to rework classes in the middle of the raid tier. This seems like the perfect time to rework classes and fix things while we are in between tiers and people have decent gear.

Then why change classes at prepatch?

Because classes had to be changed since artifact weapons were going away and azerite traits were being added.

Okay then why weren’t all classes and specs fixed then?

I just don’t think you are understanding what I am trying to tell you.

It really does make you wonder. Just look at feral druids. Months of beta, then the expansion was released and the spec was still egregiously broken in pve. and still is. It’s infuriating
