Same thing happened to me on layer 7.
Last week, I could do layer 6 with effort, I’d die if I did something dumb but I could handle stuff.
This week, the layer 7 floor 2 boss ripped through my earth elemental and then killed me, before he even got up to ten stacks. With all CDs (including bloodlust) and every possible anima power to that point, I could get him to about 30% before he burned me down.
So I guess I get to just stay at layer 6 until I get significant gear upgrades.
Let us know how Layer 6 works out this week. I don’t think you’ll enjoy the outcome.

I cleared layer 6 of both wings this week already.
It was harder than last week, but doable. The buff to the earth elemental CD reduction anima power is really strong now, I got it twice and had a permanent elemental pet in one of the runs.
It was a win for me but it didn’t feel good. It was more like “Thanks, I hate it. Next week I won’t touch anything close to this and take a hit on Soul Dust as Papa Blizzard intended”.
Yup, that was what I was afraid of. Several people are insisting it’s just us not being geared for the higher layers, but nope, layers we could clear before are now noticeably harder than before as well.
Regression in power is great.

There is no way I can solo layer 8, not even close.
I still don’t think it should be nerfed.
Yeah. I’m just looking at ‘tank a mawrat until I can line up every single cooldown my class has available to me’ as my standard floor boss strat from now on.
(I’d just save them, but some of the pulls require cds too.)

I did have one fun power today on our aborted Layer 2 run.
Turn into a Mawrat! A big one. Great for higher mobility. Just a fun power, useless in combat.
Figured I’d mention that. Nice we have some cool powers. I also noticed that there seems to be an RNG issue on resetting the powers. Layer 3 murdered us, so we moved down to Layer 2. The first anima cell at the gate? For me anyway, gave the same exact two powers. Thought its supposed to randomized each time you enter.

During beta did anyone point out how boring Torghast is? Whilst the boss can be fun (depending on which boss you get, what anima powers you have etc…) clearing trash is mind numblingly dull. On top of that it seems blizz went out of their way to make the layers/floors as sprawling and as long as possible. And of course you have to clear all the trash if you don’t want to miss any anima power and you do that for 4 floors… It is just so dam time consuming and then if you get to the boss and you can’t beat the boss , welp there goes your 40 mins , your 1 hour spent, spent and you get nothing.
It is just so dull, clearing trash is coma inducing, did anyone say anything during beta? Is there anyway I can stop myself from wanting to pass out whilst clearing trash?
The concept is interesting. The application needs some work.
I just hope Torghast gets some love and not side lined like Island Expeditions.
All I see its muted and normal in that tab. I guess you have a specific trust lvl to use ignore.
That’s good. I got my butt handed to me on layer 7, but I just made some food and bought some flasks so I am gonna give it a real go… otherwise I won’t sweat it.
Not really concerned… I figure since the max is 8 layers, it may well just not be intended to be done at my current gear level (181). Still gonna try though because I am stubborn

Just because Ion and the Dev team have turned WoW’s BfA into the success of Shadowlands it is today, I wouldn’t call that simping rather paying homage to some extremely creative gentlemen!
To me that is the perfect attitude to have!!

Gear is not class knowledge… so it remains true class knowledge only goes so far.
Players will need both skill and gear to complete the challenges, yes.

This guy is infecting my thread but for some reason I’ve lost the ability to report him because ‘I’ve done it too many times’ in a situation where he’s the only one I’m reporting in this thread alone and he’s trolled my thread that many times.
