What should we do if we dont like dragonriding?

here we go

I havenā€™t seen anyone in my party have a hard time doing the same things they were doing with regular flying. I on the other hand just get the occasional woozy feeling.

I donā€™t think itā€™s worse. I donā€™t think itā€™s bad. I just think itā€™s not accessible to everyone and can coexist with regular flying.

Iā€™m assuming you meant to respond to my thread about this rather than post it in another thread, but Iā€™ll go ahead and reply here.

How difficult dragon riding is and how difficult it is to obtain items scattered throughout the world will be at the discretion of the player in question. Some people might find it easy, some people may find it difficult. I personally lean towards it being relatively easy.

That said, you still have to engage with dragon ridingā€™s mechanics to obtain those items. Using regular flying to obtain these items, on the other hand, would be effortless because thereā€™s no pushback in getting them. You canā€™t fail using regular flying, but you can with dragon riding. That is what makes it a puzzle. A hard puzzle? Again, up to interpretation. If I didnā€™t know any better, I would think that itā€™s the hardest thing ever given how the forums have reacted to the entire feature.

Sorry for the confusion. The person I replied to quoted your thread so I was replying to them.

I donā€™t think itā€™s a puzzle at all. Itā€™s the motion of it that makes it challenging. And not because of skill level. Especially at max glyphs. Itā€™s only challenging getting the highest glyphs.

Technically. The environment was designed to take advantage of dragonriding so getting around without it has been made oppressive intentionally to force people to use it. I can ride around on my ground mounts like I normally do but it is designed to be an exceptionally bad experience for me if I do.

I mean, we can use another term to describe it if you think puzzle isnā€™t applicable, but I think having to utilize your environment and abilities in specific ways does constitute being a puzzle. Some people, especially if the forums reaction is anything to go by, are likely going to be perplexed on how to achieve a particular glyph or item, forcing them to think about their approach in the matter. That is a puzzle, in my opinion.

Even so, that challenge would be rendered pointless if you could just hover up to it, no?

No doubt, but thatā€™s not my problem with it personally. Itā€™s that dizzy feeling and not being able to judge distance for landings.

Itā€™d help assist with eye issues. And I mean if you find it to be a puzzle, it being there as an option doesnā€™t deter that.

I would advise giving it more time to see if you come to like it ā€“ you didnā€™t say how long you tried it but once you unlock more of the tree it gets smoother.

Unless a friend is able to help me with ride along, Iā€™ll wait til normal flying is added, personally. Not worth $50 to get motion sickness and be unable to play.

as far as I know you can get the glyphs as a whelp (someone correct me if Iā€™m wrong) which literally takes less effort than normal flying would.

Yep, you absolutely can get the glyphs as a whelp. An intentional feature to help with accessibility until regular flying is added.

Someone still has to engage with the dragon riding system to get it, though. That argument isnā€™t really discredited when the act of dragon riding is still in place.

so now its a disability issues? your original post was about not enjoying it and about others not enjoying it. only now after others brought up disability as an argument do you now say you cant use the new systemā€¦

Thank you so much for this. The person hijacking this thread obviously has their own set of problems. I just donā€™t want to be subjected to that level of complete nonsense combined with toxicity.

Ya, it reeks of bs for sure.

there is an option to remove the wind effects

not sure if its been answered but no there is not. also because i jumped over the side(on purpose) without getting dragonriding means no more campain quests which im guessing is how you get all the fpā€™s in the zone to apear. i have ran to all the fpā€™s and none so far have a flight guy there  so i cant fly anywhere.

theres also very very few quests. im 63 now on my prot pally and theres no more quests in the zone. getting back on soon so im just gonna try to run to the next zone if i even can. the campain quests are locked behind dragon riding.

gonna be another very short expansion for me i guess :frowning:

he is saying the game is designed around the puzzle of using the new flight system to get rewards. giving the option of old flying literally breaks the whole design of the game. This system is right out of gw2. its arguably the best part of that game. side note, i also dont know of anyone being this up in arms over that system which is a far larger challenge when it comes to skill and other factors. look at it this way, you cant get mythic gear without doing mythic content, you cant get some of the treasures without doing dragon riding. im sure there will be carry services soon enough for getting to places with the buddy system.

I need to know where.
