i havent bought the expansion. was in beta for a hot min and didnt enjoy dragon riding.
whats the compromise for those who do not enjoy dragon riding?
edit: allot of people have helped me get around DR system. thank you to all who have. just gotta wait till payday to get the expac

There are still flight paths, and “ferry” service from dragons to get you to the top of things where quests are.

It’s just a tool to get across a ravine, or to a high spot faster. Like an engineering glider or slowfall.

Wait for flying to unlock like every other recent expack.
Though DR is so powerful with full talents unlocked, you’re doing yourself a disservice even if you’re not a fan of the controls.

You will have to do some tutorial quests. I went through and got the runes to make it more convenient, but my method is to use it as an occasional high jump or slow fall lol Azure Span looks like it will be my favorite to level in because the terrain is largely level and easily traversed by ground mounts. I’m also using a lot of FPs.

can those be used in replacement of dragonriding?
is there a path for feet to reach where dragon riding was intended?
is there a time window for how long till that happens?
and what about that dungeon that requires DR?

No time window though rumor has been floating around about 10.1. As for the dungeon, skip it I guess?

No idea. Go play the game and find out. I’m using dragon riding to get around and it’s a blast.

that puts a damper on my goals but i meant it more in a way that was if 10.1 brings flying, do you think that dungeon will alow base flying instead?

I am not that far into the expansion. But I believe the only areas necessary to use dragonriding to get to only have dragonriding related stuff on them.
If you had a glider or slowfall you could definitely use those instead of the dragon to get from place to place.
I don’t particularly like dragon riding either but I do use it to get to the top of terrain or over obstacles occasionally.

i like how this expansion the areas feel huge. BFA didnt feel large and same for shadowlands

None? Just skip this expansion or wait until they add flying, and hope players like myself don’t talk Blizz out of adding pathfinder.

Honestly who knows? It widely depends on whether or not they are devoted to forcing DR there. If it’s in an outdoor area, I bet regular flying would someday be fine. If it’s some weird indoor area with special DR permissions, probably not.
No experience in it yet. Someone who’s grinded harder probably knows more.

Just stay in Val and queue for dungeons, pvp, and lfr. Just another boring expansion not worth questing in.
ya u dont need to dragonride but it’ll sure make the game easier
