Does it reduce threat generation or it drops threat?
It reduces your current threat.
So lets say for example you have 500 threat on an enemy. You press Fade. You now have 300 threat.
I dont know the exact number/percentage it reduces it by, but its a fairly large amount.
Drops threat. Save it if you pull mobs while healing. If you get threat via dps as a priest, then you aren’t using the right spells.
I think it reduces threat by a certain %, if your threat is insanely higher then the tank (or anyone else in general) fade will not drop your aggro
Does the threat come back?
i pull aggro even when i just spam mindflay in 5ppl
Then your tank has a problem or the group isn’t focus firing correctly.
No, but you continue to build threat while healing/DPSing (shadow). Fade is just a threat management ability. It’s not like feign death, which completely erases all threat…
Fade does not cause a permanent or numerical reduction in your threat level.
For the duration of the buff, you cannot “have aggro”. Mobs will not target you. It’s the same way that invulnerabilities work; the mobs will just go to someone else for the duration.
However, it does not actually reduce your threat, and you will continue to generate threat while Faded. If the mobs are not dealt with, they will come right back to you when it ends.
If you don’t have points in Shadow Affinity you will probably pull threat at some point, even with SA you will come close in endgame.
That is the retail version.
In old wow I’m pretty sure it reduces your threat by a number not a percent and your next threat generating action after the buff expires will do normal threat +all the threat that was faded.
No. Spriest are notoriously good at ripping threat.
I am about 85% confident that how I described is how it works in Classic, and has always worked.
i have it ofc
If you get threat via dps as a priest, then you aren’t using the right spells.
Mind Blast disagrees.
Iirc it only temporarily reduces your threat, but it’s a good “oh crap” button

Does the threat come back?
Yes.

Yes.
why this game hate shadow priests so much?

why this game hate shadow priests so much?
Because it’s not TBC.
why this game hate shadow priests so much?
We still get to melt faces in PvP, thankfully.
If you hit Fade and then the mob comes back at you again after it’s over then there’s only two things happening:
- You’re attacking the wrong target, not the same one everyone else is.
- Your tank kinda sucks and isn’t trying to constantly generate more and more threat.
Usually it’s #2. This is coming from someone who has played both warrior and then priest the longest in this game.
