When all people have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail
theres that word again
can you tell on first glance what a characters “spec” is in Vanilla? not opening their character pane to inspect their gear or talents, but just a cursory look? you can in retail because it will literally say “Name - Protection Paladin”
there are no specs in Vanilla, to reiterate for the umpteenth time.
Your word-salad doesn’t make paladins able to tank kelthuzad reliably
Well they shouldn’t because they aren’t a tank class
oh sorry, protection talented paladins aren’t a tank class
In retail they are, in Vanilla they are just “Paladins”
A Mage that allocates talent points into Frost/Fire/Arcane is still a Mage and still a DPS. Get it yet?
You citing specifics does not make it subjective. I’m referring to the broader view of a Paladin and not making a direct comparison to DnD regardless of Blizzard’s intended inspiration. After all, they made notable changes in TBC to make them more viable for DPS and tanking.
We can all find out direct comparisons and go from there if we like. When I think ‘Paladin’, I think Final Fantasy IV, where the only Paladin has limited healing ability and can use powerful weapons for destructive force.
We aren’t talking about TBC here
I wish the OG world of warcraft website was still up and available so you could see how wrong you are lol. They were designed to tank. The developers just didn’t understand their own game at the time and did a bad job.
The absolute tomfoolery in this thread is from huffing pints of copium
Another concession I’ll gladly accept. It’s been a pleasure
Cecil is a prot pally.
wow theres alot of posts about changes that arent happening
Should Blizzard be adding Torghast and Artifact Weapons to MoP Classic? Hell, why not add them to TBC or even Vanilla? Maybe Death Knights and Monks too and everything else that came with them? Why not? They added them in future expansions for a reason so surely that reason is enough for them to be back ported into older versions?
TBC and beyond, whatever changed in it should not and does not have any bearing on what happens in Vanilla.
This is what we in the business call moving the goal post to strengthen your argument
SoD being a thing proves that wrong lol
I would make one but why spam the forums, but hey you asked so here you go
I think a good way to fix enhancement shaman in classic would be to add dual wield at level 10 or 20 from the trainer, make 2 handers base line from weapon trainers. Swap parry and two-handed axes and maces in the talent tree now that two-handed axes and maces is a row 5 talent change it to mental dexterity - 30% of attack power is converted into spell power and when you melee restore 5% base mana per hit. Make storm strike hit with both weapons.
simple and effective changes without make it insane to balance. maelstrom weapon is fun but its not classic.
These changes would make shaman a more fun while not pushing classics boundary to much in terms of class changes.
EDIT - I would like to see scaling to AGI as well but lets hope they do that in TBC STR scaling is gross when most mail is AGI hunter mail.
This has got to be a troll.
SoD fixed this
An opinion you disagree with isn’t a troll
Got it, you’re a troll
so it is or it isn’t? make up your mind lmao
