VERY cool!
You ever just look at an ironing board? Can you imagine getting that approved in today’s safety conscious world?
“What did you want to get an approval on?”
“Um, I call it an ironing board. I want to have like a surf board shaped device about this high, and I want to support it with two thin criss crossing poles so the centre of gravity is precariously high, so the slightest nudge will be sure to topple it. Then I want to put a big hot metal thing on top of that, with water the temperature of lava oozing out the sides and dripping off the board for burn wounds. I want one side to be a white hot heat for scarring, I want the shear weight to be able to cause blunt force trauma, and I want the whole thing to come to a point for puncture wounds.”
“Well uh, it seems a little unsafe for adults.”
“I’m not finished! I want a cord coming down to get the toddlers involved!”
No one can actually look at Vanilla and say, “Nothing is broken” with a straight face.
I can and do, as do many others. The ones that don’t, are playing SoD. What’s left of them anyway
No real vanilla player cares that much. The game is very fun how it is. It’s been played on repeat forever now and will still be played when we’re dead.
Oof
That i have to correct you on. They admitted to Paladin looking good on paper, but the way they handled it was awful. It’s why they went through the changes they did. The execution just didn’t match the plan.
@Actives, if you were to watch interviews or read up on initial WoW’s philosophies, the only reason why paladins werent given a taunt, was because Devs thought paladins would tanking raid bosses and healing at the same time and it’d be too op.
In the game, where 1 critical shadowbolt yanks thread off, devs thought that main tanks would be raid healing. It’s the same devs that had Boomkin’s highest talent an increase of physical damage. Same devs that put Strength on cloth items. Same devs that thought people would only run every dungeon once.
So let’s not act like Vanilla is some sort of fully fleshed out game. It’s not. Not even remotely close.
It’s okay to like a broken version, but at least be honest about it. Stop being a coward.
Ok whether or not i think it’s broken is irrelevant. Vanillas imbalance makes it balanced. We play around it, as we always have. If you want balance, play SoD (which is ironically even worse balance wise than Vanilla)
ret paladins not being a joke doesn’t feel like vanilla. ret being the clown spec is actually very integral to the vanilla experience.
And as I said no real vanilla enjoyer really cares. Is that not extremely apparent with how replayed it is?
