What % of players have over 1 million gold?

I have around 7million across the 3 servers made mostly in wod and legion. I dont play the ah so outside of tokens I dont really spend a lot.

Doing 1~2 hours each day only gathering herbs/ores will easily give you at least a WoW Token.
I think 1 million is not a lot if you take a look, but letā€™s just say that jumping from node to node is not the most fun thing ever, thatā€™s why most people are stuck at 200~300k.

LOL, not me.
I just struggled to spend 419,000 on the Rustbolt Resistor two days ago. Almost didnā€™t do it, but I wanted it for my mechagnome, so whatever. Iā€™m back to broke again.
Honestly donā€™t know how people get so much. I mine, skin, grab herbs, and attempt to sell pets that NEVER sell.
Iā€™m not stressing it, but I donā€™t have RL funds to buy tokens, so any gold I get is very minimal, and since I like questing and leveling alts, thatā€™s all I end up doing most times Iā€™m on anyway. Maybe if I spend hours mining and skinning it would be worth it, but doubtful. /shrug

Actuallyā€¦ if you farm WoD raids you get a ton of gold just by smashing mobs.

Have 1.2 mill right now but back in legion on all my drunk raid nights i gave away over 2 mill gold. Kind of regret it now but it was fun times lol. N legion is where i made most of my gold

Probably about 25-50% of active players who actually play the game. Only people broke in this game are casuals.

Iā€™m sitting at close to 1.5 million on two characters. Thereā€™s just not much to spend gold on so it accumulates over time. Iā€™ll buy the occasional tokens for blizzard balance for services and maybe a mount here and there. The only crafting I do is alchemy on this character and I gather all the herbs myself.

Iā€™d bet less than 5 percent. Iā€™d be surprised if more than 10 percent ever had 1 million gold.

When I take into account gold from this expansion alone (I finished Legion with about 400k) over the course of due expenses like repairs, flasks, potions, herbs, etc, Iā€™ve gained something in the realm of 6-7mil. My current standing liquid gold is still at 1.06mil. My total character assets if I were to dump everything right now, is valued about 1.5mil (rating my account at 2.5mil or so in total gold).

Honestly? I even play month-to-month with WoW tokens, and all my gold has come from a super lucky BoE (sold for 1.2mil) and throwing stuff on the AH. Sadly, my current realm has a rather undesireable player who continuously drops the price of the AH by immediately reposting consumables with roughly a 15 second delay between undercut and reposting.

I didnā€™t play in WOD or Legion, and I have about 200k gold. I also bought one of the frog mounts awhile back. I feel like a balla.

How about this: Having played some classic. You really deal in copper, silver and only much later gold.

Why not a platinum, diamond or Ruthenium currency and reduce these numbers. I mean theyā€™ve already scaled back to 60 for SL.

Thereā€™s also all these alternative currencies that become obsolete after an expansion, but it would be nice to have an exchange bank for that stuff. You know my max manashards, apexis, etc. Convert that to gold or higher after I move into the next expansion or even during.

If you are happy doing this and having fun in the game, that is all that matters.

As far as gold making goesā€¦there is no raid in existence that can compare to making gold on the AH. There is so many ways to make gold and so much gold that can be made that if you make 1/2 a million gold on one sale it would take weeks of farming all raids to make something like that where as you can make that 1/2 million gold in a couple of minutes on the AH.

That much I know, but Iā€™m really not into crafting or flipping auctions over, Iā€™d rather play the combat part of the game.

Also, playing the AH heavily depends on which server you are playing on.
Many friends already left my realm for Stormrage and some others due to the state of the AH here (and to avoid the HUE BR behavior prejudice, which while not unfounded, isnā€™t nearly as prevalent as people like to assume).

Most everyone in both of my guilds are pretty much poor something like 100k or less.

Iā€™d image itā€™s pretty low. Maybe 5% or so. The most gold Iā€™ve ever had was 300k or so.

I disagree with that. Sure you did well, Iā€™ve also done well, but the ā€œfun factorā€ is WAY less than WoD and Legion. BfA was designed to drain gold out of the game - so even world quests ask for 5,000 gold worth of mats to reward you with 135 gold. Itā€™s quite silly.

Now I made about a third of what you made in BfA, but my strategy is to not burn out so I only dabble with the AH using TSM (and sure, Iā€™ll mass post stuff) and overall it is very productive use of time.

But I really hope they go back to a healthier in game economy in Shadowlands, because that is more fun. It was way more fun when professions were actually useful instead of just as ā€œgarbage gear until I get a dropā€ as they are now. And craftable legendaries were awesome.

I agree we will never see mission table gold again, thatā€™s gone. But profession gold was part of the social aspect of the game that Bliz has worked hard to destroy.

I would have a lot more if I didnā€™t decide to dip my toe into the AH and make a very, very bad investment.

My guess is that a lot of players (maybe most?) would have one million gold across all of their characters. Far fewer would have over one million gold on their individual characters.

Sitting on 2.1 million.

Well i wasnā€™t talking about fun although i find making gold to be fun personally. But as you attested you made between 5 and 7 mill. gold or there abouts, so making gold is still healthy.

As far as the quest goesā€¦yea i mean if you are spending 1k gold to make 100 gold, donā€™t know what to tell you other then lol. That was in general, not you as in you personally.

Also remember we still have about 1/3 to 1/4 of BfA to go, so there is still plenty of time to make gold.
